When I first decided to start speaking with those in Spirit - I needed some help.
If Spirit wanted me to do *their* work (::cough cough:: become a medium), they were going to help me feel safe doing it! I couldn’t go into the Spiritual Realms alone, I didn’t know what was out there or who I would encounter, and yet somehow I knew, someone in the Spirit Realm would help me and lead the way! In other words, I wanted their help.
All of us have Spiritual Helpers – and you may have already met one of yours.
I met my Protector Guide in meditation.
I sat down that night to quiet my mind, and I set the intention that I would work with Spirit, if and only if, they helped to protect me! Not just when I was communicating with deceased loved ones, but also to help me discern which Spirits really were worth talking to, or who was *really* working for the greatest and highest good. Discernment – I needed help with discernment. And we all do – not just in the world of Spirit – but also in our every day physical and day to day lives.
We also need to feel safe, protected, secure and loved.
When my Protector Guide stepped forward in my mind’s eye that night in meditation, after I asked for a Spirit to assist me on my growth process, this is immediately what I felt in my body – a rush of warmth, protection and love.
She reached out her hand to me, and offered me a gift. Her gift was an image symbolic of my journey – a timeless flower meaning self love and acceptance – and your Spirit Guide will also have, and want to give to you a small token, symbolic of your journey, when you meet him or her.
Protector Spirit Guides are responsible for your safety and well being, and often will help you make decisions that require discernment.
They are familiar for their ‘tough love’ approach, and are always supportive, calm, and gentle – no matter how much tough love they show you.
Protector guides can help you stay safe while you travel and provide wise guidance for your ‘greatest good’ when making difficult decisions (such as traveling or new relations). In fact, just last month, I encountered car troubles at midnight in a very rural place.
When my car stopped working, I asked my Protector Guide for help.
And not only did I get a tow truck to come within 15 minutes, I was able to book the last overnight motel room available in the entire town.
THEN, not only did she tell me what was wrong with the car, but she told me how much it would cost to fix it and who to take it to.
So not only did I have a safe place to sleep, I also had a solution.
When you develop a working relationship with your Protector Guide, he or she can and will help you in difficult situations – both in the world of Spirit or in Physical.
You can ask your Protector Guide to help guard and shield you from negativity or absorbing energy that isn’t yours.
You can ask your Protector Guide to help re-inforce your energetic boundaries and for ideas on strengthening your Aura.
You can ask your Protector Guide for advice on new business partnerships, romantic relationships, and friendships (remember: they will always advise you on the greatest good for your soul’s growth!).
These are just a few ideas, and you can ask for assistance from your Spirit Guide on any issue of safety, security, and the best intentions for your soul’s growth. I trust my Protector Guide like a best friend, and she is with me in every reading! In fact, she has offered Spiritual Advice to many of my clients, alongside THEIR protector guides!
So, how do you meet this Spirit Guide?
The key is to remember there are no limitations for you. You too, have a Spirit Guide who is eager to keep you safe, help you feel protected, and for you to ask for guidance on life decisions.
5 Tips to Working with Your Protector Spirit Guide
1. Set the Intention to Meet Them
Simply say to yourself that you intend to me your Protector Spirit Guide, and what role you would like them to play in your life. Would you like to explore the realm of spirit communication, and need a protective escort? Do you need someone to help guide you through marketing your new book? Whatever it is, set the intention that they will help serve and protect you, by assisting your own inner knowledge with the discernment of those in Spirit.
For example, say something like this, “I now intend to meet the member of my Spiritual Team, who is responsible for helping me with protection. I ask that he or she step forward and. . (requests here) . . . – I intend to develop a loving and supportive relationship with you and am grateful for the guidance you offer”.
2. Sit Down to a Meditation
Settle in to do a meditation, and imagine yourself traveling to a deep, wooded forest. Once you arrive, ask your guides to appear before you. Take note of any bodily sensations, feelings, colors, scents, words, or images that come into your mind. What is the forest like? What season is it? Is it daytime or night? Are you cold or warm? What do you see or sense? Take it all in.
Ask for the name of your guide, and trust the FIRST thing that comes to your mind, whatever it is. This is the name of your protector guide. Next, ask your guide to step forward, to stand directly in front of you, in your energy field. Take an inventory of your sensations, and then ask your guide to step backwards, and witness any changes you experience. Do this at least three more times. The sensations, words, or images that you receive when in meditation with a guide could be their calling card – the unique method they let you know of their presence. Each guide has one.
3. Develop your Relationship
Most of the time, Spirit Guides communicate with us through an ‘inner voice’, that thing inside of us that calmly, quietly, and wisely speaks the truth. Some of us hear this voice, some of us feel it in our bones, some of us simply, just, know. Begin to trust this voice and listen to it. This is the voice of your Spirit Guide. The more you pay attention to it, the clearer, stronger, and more direct the guidance will be. As you put your trust in Spirit, they too, put their trust in you.
Ask your guides to send you a sign of their presence or for an answer to a question that you are asking Maybe you are wondering if you should take an online course next month, and you see a quote referring to the to topic of the course, and then someone asks you about it.
All of these are synchronicities and synchronicity, is one of the ways your guides communicate with you directly - to show you that you're in alignment (think: like cookie crumbs to the cottage). You can also receive guide transmissions through your dreams.
Spirit Guides love to communicate in the dream world.
4. Ask a Medium
As a medium, I greatly enjoy connecting people with and introducing them to their Spirit Guides. In a reading, most mediums can identify one or two of your Spirit Guides, and can provide you with direct, channeled messages from those on your spiritual support team. This introduction can help you tune in and directly connect with your guides on a more intimate level.
5. Ask them for help with Protection
Your Spirit Guide wants to help protect you from those things that do not serve your Spirit or the growth of your soul. In fact, they are eager to provide you with wisdom and insight. In order to receive guidance, simply ask, and then listen. Sometimes their answer may come in a sign, a dream, or a knowing of the right way. You may even be able to hear it as an inner voice.
To begin working with your Spirit Guide, all that you need to do is set the intention to do so, and to practice.
In fact, I recommend daily practice.
Your Spirit Guides will never want to control your life or tell you what to do, they will always offer assistance and support when asked! Much like my Guides, your Spirit Guide will always encourage you to make your own decisions first, and only then consult their advice, after you have asked your own Spirit what is the right answer.
Put trust in yourself and also have trust a little trust in Spirit.
