Yesterday morning I was driving my partner to the airport, then heading to the office for my first private reading of the day. I was feeling productive...
Then, I got a flat tire in the middle of downtown Philadelphia in the pouring rain in rush hour.
All I could think at the time was:
What a nightmare! What’s the deal Spirit Guides, you couldn’t have warned me?
But alas, they had.
Only one day prior, one of my Spirit Guides, showed me that something was wrong with the front left corner of the car.
In a meditative state, I saw my guide pointing to the front corner of the car, trying to point something out on the car.
I thought it was a turn signal light he was referring to, so I did actually go outside to check.
I went through the process of turning on and off all the lights, hitting the brakes and checking the fuses - and because I didn’t see anything wrong, I just shrugged, and didn't question it further, then went back inside the house.
As it turns out, he meant to show the tire was low, and here I was, testing the lights.
Have you ever felt like the signs your Spirit Guides are sending you are elusive, if not a little vague?
Interpreting messages for yourself can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be.
They’re sending us signs, messages, and signals, all the time, yes, but how do you make better use of these messages and know what they are to mean?
Here are a few tips -
First, ask yourself if what you receive makes sense.
If it doesn't then this would be a time to ask for clarification, such as words, symbols, or even signs that will further point to what they are trying to show you.
In the world of mediumship, we call this double validation, in the world of science, it's called cross testing, and in the world of the law, it's called, more than one piece of evidence.
Whatever it is, if you get a vision, follow it up by asking for a word.
If you get a word, follow it up, by asking someone else to check out your hunch with you. Even if your guides point you in the right direction, putting a few of the clues together can help narrow it down even further.
Next, agree on critical symbols and clues.
Are you sick of wondering if every feather, red tulip, sequenced number pattern or creek in your house is a sign from Spirit? Is it? Alternatively, isn’t it? If so, which Spirits are doing what?
It can be like interpreting a captcha on your banking login page... .wait, is it an ‘f,’ or could it be an ‘n’?
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Since this experience, I've settled on a warning sign system with my guides, and I call it the red flag system, you can call it the white flag system, whatever it is... have one sign that means: danger, alert.
It can be a ringing in the ears, a flash of light, a particular symbol, an animal sign, a flower, number sequence, or song, but make it easy - I like signs that do not require anything else other than my own body, so sensations, sounds, and visions work best for me.
You may already know what it is and whatever it is, once you receive it, then you know it’s time to tune in for Divine Guidance and receive the message.
Having one codeword can help alert you of danger before it happens ideally and it's work for me ever since this event.
Think of something that stands out to you, when you see it, you always notice.
Haven't figured it out yet?
Ask to be shown the meaning in another way.
Some Spirit Guides are symbolic to a fault, this is fun when you're doing readings, but when you need something concrete, it can feel like a wild goose chase to always be getting your messages in such a flowery way.
Remember when my Spirit Guide, showed me that something was wrong with the left front end of my car, and I thought it was the light?
At that moment, I could’ve asked my guide, to show what he meant in another way, like zooming in on the image or throwing you another picture altogether.
So this is precisely what it sounds like. Sometimes communication with guides is a bit like a game of Pictionary, them throwing you images until you guess the word behind the card, and in cases of emergency, it can help to ask one more time to be sure and you can keep asking until you get it.
If you feel like your Spirit Guide is sending you a sign, or trying to get a message to you, but you haven't figured it out yet, ask them to show you again. In a way that is easier for you to understand, through another image, sound or symbol - and they will, you guys are on a team together so in this case, both parties want to win.
Finally, as I mentioned in the beginning..
Cross check it by inviting someone else in on the mystery.
Time for teamwork! The best way to get an objective opinion to ask an objective source - someone outside of yourself, who loves and supports you, understands your belief system and is willing to help you look at something critically.
This person does not have to be another medium or spiritually sensitive person; it could be a friend, family member, partner, or professional. No matter who this person is - the requirement is that your objective viewfinder is someone who respects your beliefs and cares about your life.
Avoid asking someone you went on a first date with, or someone questions your belief system already.
Ask someone who knows you in your soul, or can access higher guidance; you may even share with them what your spirit guide shared with you to help them better understand their hunches too.
Layout for this person what you think are signs and symbols and markers and then ask what they think about it. Provide as little or as many details as you feel would be helpful, and see what they say. Doing so can be a great bonding experience because secretly everyone loves being included on a bit of the spirit mystery.
Interpreting messages from guides can be challenging at first but with a few tweaks, the messages will get more clear.
And these are just a few of the ways that you can clarify messages from your guides to avoid an emergency experience, such as a flat tire during rush hour.
We can't avoid all the pitfalls of life, as many of them make great stories or lessons for later on, but our guides can help us jump over a few of the potholes when we better learn how to interpret and apply their communications.
Clearer interpretation of the messages often requires simply digging a little bit deeper and stretching out your communications with them. Now, when it comes to vehicles, illnesses, and other critical care situations, I always do my best to ask for more - and I’ve avoided most pitfalls ever since.
For more clarity in communicating with your guides, it helps to connect with them in a calm, comfortable state, such as in meditation, and The Spiritual Gateway Series is designed to assist with this and The Getting Started Kit includes this series along with a course and ebook on how to better sense all of the spirit world, including your guides.
