What Is The Life Review?
When someone makes the grand transition in life called death, there is a period where this Spirit can re-adjust, settle in, and get accustomed to other side.
During this time, this Spirit can also reflect on their time on earth.
This period of reflection generally takes a few weeks to many years, with the average Spirit spending 6 months to 1 year in ‘reflection’ of their life on earth. This period is called the life review. However, since there is no concept of time in the world of Spirit, this time to review your life after you pass may take years.
During this time, your deceased loved one, now in Spirit, is surrounded by spirit guides and relatives, and begins to review their life and the lessons they were meant to learn while on earth.
Starting from birth and extending to death, the deceased will see every event in their lives playback to them as though on a giant movie screen in front of them.
Some spirits have shown this to me as an actual movie screen, some have shown film strips, and while some have shown themselves watching their life in solitude in a small room, and many are surrounded by love and support – of their guides, angels, and those they know on the other side.
While they will get to see all their experiences through their own perspective, they also see their experiences through the perspective of every single other being or person that was involved.
Since your life involves the perspectives of all those involved, the life review, for some, can take a very long time - depending on how complex. However, when complete, your deceased loved one will have a lot of perspective about those they knew and of their own actions while on earth. This perspective, is often what your loved ones will share in mediumship readings - what they have learned and using this perspective, assist you in your own life.
Often in readings, people will want to know why their husband, father, mother, brother hasn’t visited them immediately after death.
The explanation that they have shared and it is typically along the lines of, “I wanted to visit, and always planned on visiting you, but I was in my life review and I wasn’t able to get out and see you until now!”
Some spirits have mentioned that they could occasionally take breaks, just as in school or in a long all-day workshop, but that they mostly were occupied with reviewing their life upon passing.
Thus, when a loved one passes over, give them time to visit you.
They may be gaining perspective in a life review, a perspective they can share with you on their next visit.
The life review evokes a process of separation – for the Spirit and for you. This transition may be helpful in the grieving process for those left behind, and helpful in the letting go process of those that are moving on to the next stage of their spiritual path.
To end, a life review is a temporary period after spirit transitions where the individual gains wisdom about their life on earth. This frees the spirit of all burdens and lessons and allows the Spirit to transcend to divine love.
