Your soul purpose is the reason you are here on this earth. And making sure that you are in alignment with your soul purpose is the role of many of your Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels.
We’re all seeking out the answer to what is the purpose of life, and our own lives specifically. Like me, since childhood, you’ve been told that you are unique and special and have a role on this earth completely and entirely meant for you.
But, first, you must find out what that role, is right?
No, not exactly.
In this moment, you are living your soul’s purpose, and every action and inaction you have taken up until this time is in fulfillment of what that purpose is. We’re all living our purpose in every moment - the problem is that we don’t have the exact words to put to it! The mission statement, not the mission, is what we are missing.
Finding out your soul’s purpose is like developing a mission statement for a company that’s been in business 20 years already.
Discovering your soul’s purpose isn’t a great mystery, at all - what it is - is a matter of vocabulary. It’s a matter of putting human words to the life and meaning that you already have and are.
The reason you are here on Earth is to discover yourself, uncover the truth and meaning of who you are and awaken others to do the same. Each of us, provides this gift to ourselves and others in many ways.
Is your soul purpose your job? Sometimes. But not always.
More exactly, it’s the gift that you give to others when you don’t even notice. It’s light that you have brought to the lives of others, just by being you - in your true essence.
Writing a mission statement (soul purpose) is easy to do. But you’ll need some input and brainstorming.
3 Steps to Find out your Purpose
1. You teach that which you are learning
It has been said before that we teach others that which we are learning. Your soul purpose is the reason you are here - it is the lessons you have come to learn and the lessons you are meant to teach others. In a way, we are all teachers to others and students of each other.
What is it that you are learning always in your life? Is it how to smile in a bad situation? How to find the light and lemonade in the pouring rain? Is it how to understand the world with numbers?
Perhaps then, your soul’s purpose is to teach others how to have light and beauty on a rainy day or the importance and sacredness number systems.
Take a moment to ask yourself, what is it that I am learning to do? This, is what you are teaching others.
2. Ask someone else for help
This is the strength finder experiment. Your customers - friends, family and coworkers - know what your purpose is. After all, they’ve been going to your store for years! So ask them these questions:
What your favorite part about me?
What is the reason why you like having me as a friend?
What have I taught you?
In what ways have I been a gift to to you in your life?
What are my strengths?
When I ask my friends this, they usually say that I’m comforting, I help them understand things in their lives in times of uncertainty and that I’m an excellent teacher. My partner says I bring a peaceful aura to any situation. And my purpose, I feel is to provide comfort and peace to others through Spirit - connecting my Spirit with theirs - that is.
Go out and ask others - what is the gift I have given to you in your life? What lessons have I taught you? What are my biggest strengths?
3. Discover what brings you the most joy
If you haven’t yet, take some time to learn what makes you happy and what brings you joy to do. Is what brings you joy connecting with people in your church? Playing music on the guitar? Making fancy tea blends? Being organized?
At the end of the day, your soul’s mission on earth is to find how to live your purpose with the most joy, love and happiness imbued into it. Aligning with your Spirit and your Soul is happiness. It is Purpose. Take up some new hobbies, go for walks, explore and expand your soul. Learn what makes your Spirit glow.
Following your mission with beauty radiating from your heart is the true purpose of all souls - finding joy and love. Living with a peaceful heart.
Take a few days, a week or a month to ask yourself and others these three questions and write down the answers that you receive.
Then brainstorm and think about it. As you consider your purpose, come up with a few mission statements that ring true to your ears. These words and answers are part unique feedback that will make up your mission statement. Your soul’s purpose.
How do you integrate your purpose into your life?
That’s the next challenge. For each of us, the task is different and unique. Truly and honestly, you can live your purpose in any job or role, but it is how you take and live in that role which matters most.
However, to find out how to live your life aligned with your purpose in the highest and greatest way is all part of the journey!
