The development process for your intuitive, psychic and mediumship abilities is unique for everyone.
We all come to the decision to explore the opening of our intuitive and spiritual abilities for different reasons, guided by different life experiences and to achieve different results.
Not everyone wants to give psychic readings or see the future. Some, simply want to understand what has already been happening to them for the last 10 years, while others, have been called to learning about the energetic and spiritual realms after a personal near death experience or after experiencing the death of a loved one.
All of us are intuitive at birth. As we age, those abilities are generally shut down, due to cultural norms and social conditioning. The later opening up of your intuitive abilities is really, a re-awakening, a re-discovering and a re-strengthening.
Developing your intuitive gifts is as much a matter of discovering yourself, as it is a matter of helping others discover themselves. It’s a self-transformational process as much as it is a conduit to make life, career and belief system changes in your own life and within the lives of others.
The journey of psychic and spiritual development, while vastly diverse, does follow a general trend of stages with each stage, lasting weeks to years.
These stages of psychic development include many stages.
We move back and forth between the stages more than once, before officially moving back to the next stage. Likewise, this process, can be repeated any time you learn anything new on your intuitive path, and it can be said, that on some level, we are all going through at least one stage of discovery at any time.
The 5 Stages of Psychic Development
Level 1. Excitement Stage
This is the first stage. In this stage, you find yourself excited, overwhelmed and wanting to gather as much information as possible about anything you can find in your intuitive field of interest - or all of the fields. Intuitive events, validations and synchronicities are happening to you in fast sequence. Here you experience a rapid increase of intuitive experiences, and you feel like you simply can’t know enough, fast enough.
It is during this stage, where you find yourself moving between fear and excitement, not know if you should move forward into this unknown field and energy or back away from it.
Level 2. Doubt and Limiting Out Stage
This is the second stage. This is the stage where you begin to weigh what you’ve experienced with what you already know. It’s where your inner lower-self may kicks in to tell you it’s not real or your logical mind may step in to ask you to think things through. Here, you are careful and take everything that you learn with a grain of salt.
It is in this stage, where you begin to doubt yourself, what you’ve learned and what you’ve been told by others. Here, you start to decide which parts of the intuitive, psychic and energetic fields you believe in, which parts resonate with you and which parts you need more information on.
This is the stage where you begin to take things a lot more judiciously and begin to question what you experienced, learned and absorbed during the excitement, fast moving and rapid period. The doubts, fears and questioning of others can affect you and your own judgement during this stage. Be careful.
Here, many often decide to walk away from the intuitive path for a while, before revisiting it in the future.
Level 3. Validation Stage
This is the stage where you want proof and evidence or rational, logical answers to explain what you’ve experienced, learned and been told. This is where you are looking for evidence in the physical world, for what you received in the energetic, psychic and spiritual world. Or evidence in real life, for what you are seeing, hearing and experiencing on the spiritual plane.
You seek out readings with other professionals, test out your own abilities and begin to record your experiences for later recognition and validation. It is in this stage, where you begin to seek out a community of others who have had similar experiences or look for people, situations and evidence external to yourself to provide validation for what you’ve already experienced.
It is during this stage, that you may find yourself dropping back and between to the Doubt and Limiting Stage. If you do not receive the validation you need, keep searching. It’s there.
Level 4. Process and Methods Stage
It is in this stage, where you have found out what works for you, what you believe in and what you have found to be true. You begin to learn how it all works and how you can apply it to your own life, well being, your relationships and potentially, your career.
This is when you seek out coaching, classes and books that will teach you the methods and the steps you need to learn how to do the very thing that you have collected evidence on for being possible.
You begin to narrow down in on a focus intuitive trade on for what it is you are most interested in learning more about, rather than simply gathering all the information that comes your way. Here, you begin to decide an intuitive path, or several paths to lead you in the direction for where you want to take your abilities and how you want to apply them to your life.
Level 5. Assimilation Stage
In the final stage, you begin to integrate what you have learned in your psychic research and intuitive development journey with your physical world life. The principles, facts and beliefs that you have collected, you now decide that it’s time to start applying them to your life.
You literally start to walk the walk and talk the talk. You start to practice the techniques, apply the insights and shift your life to reflect your new-found, transformed self.
After the assimilation stage, you may more fully believe the saying,
“All in due timing,” and find yourself more comfortable with where you are in your path. In the assimilation stage, you are more fully able to see the purpose of all of it and how it aligns to the reason your soul is here at this time, to do this work.
Where do you find yourself in these stages now?
From Excitement Stage to Assimilation Stage, many people move back and forth between each, at any time in your life, any time they are learning a new concept and beginning to integrate it and understand it.
For example, if you have previously learned about energy healing and are now a professional Reiki practitioner, it is likely that you have moved through many of these stages when learning about and adopting Reiki as a practice you’d like to have in your life.
Then, when you start to learn about mediumship and spirit communication, it’s possible that you’ll move through all these stages again, when adopting the principles, elements and core processes involved with spirit communication.
Wherever you are, you are. There is no right place to be. All stages are equally valuable and essential for development. And, you may one day find yourself there again.
With love and blessings,
