When it comes to delivering messages from Spirit, things can get confusing.
Not just in how to receive information from Spirit in the first place, but also when it comes to who it’s coming from and who to give it to. While things can get mixed up along the way, one thing is clear - when sharing a message that you receive from the Other Side, it’s important to talk about getting permission.
If you are a professionally practicing medium, obtaining permission to deliver your message to it’s recipient on Earth is a given. If someone books a session with you directly, you are given permission to share with them the often sensitive, and many times, vulnerable, messages from those in Spirit on the Other Side.
But what if someone doesn’t book a session with you?
What if you aren’t a professional medium, yet, you can hear, sense and receive from Spirit?
What if you are simply picking out yellow onions at the grocery store and suddenly, you right side starts to get tingly, your face and body start to get hot and oh no, you’ve just taken a deep breath to realize it’s not just you and the onions anymore - someone’s dead Aunt standing right next to you?
Man, this has happened to me more times than I want to count.
The Spirit indicators can begin to kick in when someone in Spirit has a message to deliver. Sadly, it’s not always at a convenient time or behind the closed doors of the reading room, which would definitely leave little wiggle room for considering when it’s appropriate to share a message from Spirit. For many mediums, this very real dilemma is a daily struggle.
What is a Medium to Do?
Well, first, remember that this is not your message, this is someone else’s message. You delivering it, is doing a favor for someone when you otherwise would not have to. You are under no obligation to deliver a message, if you are not comfortable doing so. No obligation. Delivering a message is a favor for Spirit and a gift for the person who is meant to receive it.
If you want to deliver the message from Spirit, if only just to go back to living normal life once the Spirit leaves, ask yourself these three questions first:
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
It is true?
If you can answer YES to these three questions, then proceed. But if you can’t, stop right here.
After you have answered yes to the above questions, there are a few things you can do to make sure the message delivery goes off as smoothly, swiftly and without unwanted altercation as possible.
Option 1. Ask the Spirit Speaker To Create an Opening
If someone has a message to deliver and they want it delivered, it is not up to you to do all the work - it’s their message, remember? You can ask your Spirit person to help you out. Ask that this Guide, Angel or deceased Loved One nudge their intended recipient and create an opening by getting them to talk to you, to approach you or to otherwise come to you for a message. You can ask secretly, within your mind, too, so know one has to see you talking to a Spirit in public.
If your opening is created, your message can be delivered. Someone has directly approached you to speak, giving you the opportunity to do just that.
Option 2. Approach and Ask Permission
If someone has not come directly to you wanting a message from Spirit (such as in booking a reading with you), yet you have one, you can simply approach them. Introduce yourself kindly and gently, tell them who you are, that you have a message from a loved one and then ask, whether or not they would like to receive the message.
It’s almost like a package delivery. You knock on the door, someone opens that door, you ask if they want this package, if they say yes, you hand it over. If they say no, you send it back to the deliverer.
Option 3. Do Nothing
You are under no obligation to deliver any messages, to anyone, at any time, ever. As a conduit of Spirit, while you can see, sense hear and effectively communicate with both sides - that doesn't mean you are required to be a round the clock bi-lingual translator.
What you can do, is ask your Spirit Visitor to leave you alone, come back another time, find another medium (there are thousands) or find another technique to get their message across. They will. You are not necessarily their only option.
I suggest choosing the option above that resonates most with you, to assist you in making the delivery (or non-delivery) of your Spirit message more comfortable for all involved.
Once complete, simply thank both Spirit and the person for their time and attention and return to whatever else you were doing. Like, grocery shopping.
