Part 2: Protector Guides & Cord Cutting

Now that you've strengthened your own energy through White Light Protection, which created a protective bubble of light around you.

We're going to explore two additional practices that can support your energetic well-being: connecting with a Protector Guide and releasing energetic attachments through cord cutting.

While your own energy is always your greatest source of protection, we also have non-physical support available to us.

Whether you understand these beings as Spirit Guides, Angels, Ancestors, higher consciousness, or simply symbolic representations of your own inner wisdom, working with a Protector Spirit can help you feel more supported, grounded, and confident as you move through life.

Likewise, one of the most important aspects of energetic protection is recognizing when something no longer belongs in your energy field.

Throughout life we naturally form energetic connections with people, places, experiences, and even memories.

Many of these connections are loving and healthy. Others may continue draining our emotional or energetic resources long after the situation has ended.

This phase of psychic protection adds an additional layer of protective support guiding you and it helps you consciously release energy that no longer serves your highest good.

Exercise 1: Meeting Your Protector Guide

Why Work With a Protector Guide?

Many spiritual traditions teach that we are never truly alone.

Protector Guides are believed to be spiritual helpers whose role is to support your safety, well-being, and spiritual growth. Their purpose is not to make decisions for you or control your life.

Instead, they can help you remain connected to your own intuition while offering guidance, encouragement, and energetic support.

Working with a Protector Guide can help you:

  • Feel more grounded and supported during spiritual work

  • Strengthen your energetic boundaries

  • Increase your awareness when a situation feels misaligned

  • Feel calmer during periods of uncertainty or stress

  • Develop greater trust in your own intuition

  • Create a stronger sense of safety as you explore your spiritual abilities

Some people immediately perceive a guide as a person, while others experience a feeling, color, symbol, animal, or simply an overwhelming sense of presence.

Allow yourself to notice whatever naturally comes to you without forcing anything to happen.

Your Protector Guide may appear differently each time you connect, and that's perfectly normal.

Meditation: Meeting Your Protector Guide

Find a comfortable seated position with both feet resting on the floor.

Allow your shoulders to relax and gently rest your eyes.

Take three slow, deep breaths.

With every inhale, feel your body becoming calmer.

With every exhale, release any tension you are carrying.

Now bring your awareness to the base of your spine.

Imagine a strong, ancient tree growing around you.

Its trunk surrounds the base of your body while its roots travel deep into the Earth.

With every breath, feel yourself becoming more grounded, stable, and supported.

Imagine following these roots down through the layers of the Earth until you arrive in a peaceful cave at the Earth's center.

Take a moment to notice the space around you. Where you are is a place of safety.

Notice the colors, the temperature, the feeling within the space.

Now you notice a gentle light ahead.

As you walk toward it, a figure begins to emerge.

Allow whatever comes naturally to appear.

There is no need to force an image.

Your Protector Guide may appear as a person, an animal, a being of light, or simply as a comforting presence.

Take a moment to observe them.

Notice anything that stands out.

How do they feel? What emotions arise as you stand in their presence?

Silently ask:

"What would you like me to know today?"

Pause and simply receive.

You may notice words, images, emotions, physical sensations, or perhaps only a feeling of peace.

All experiences are welcome.

If it feels right, ask your guide their name or ask if they have a symbol or gift they would like to share with you.

Again, allow whatever comes naturally.

Before leaving, thank your Protector Guide for their support and ask them to continue assisting you in ways that serve your highest and greatest good.

Watch as they gently step back into the light.

Turn and make your way back along the path.

Follow the roots upward until you return to your body.

Feel your feet resting on the floor.

Take a deep breath.

When you're ready, gently open your eyes.

Spend a few moments writing down anything you noticed during your experience.

Exercise 2: Cord Cutting & Releasing Energetic Attachments

Why Cord Cutting Matters

Throughout our lives, we form energetic connections with people, places, experiences, and even memories. Many of these connections are healthy and nourishing. They help us feel loved, supported, and connected.

Sometimes, however, an interaction leaves behind something different.

Perhaps you've walked away from a conversation and couldn't stop replaying it in your mind. Maybe you continue thinking about someone long after they've left your life, or you feel emotionally exhausted every time you interact with a particular person.

In many spiritual traditions, these lingering energetic connections are often referred to as energetic cords.

Cord cutting is not about rejecting someone, erasing your memories, or ending a relationship.

Instead, it is an intentional practice of releasing the emotional and energetic charge that no longer serves you.

Think of it as returning everyone's energy to its rightful owner.

Your energy comes back to you.

Their energy returns to them.

When we stop carrying what isn't ours, we often experience greater emotional clarity, inner peace, and a renewed sense of personal freedom.

This exercise can be especially helpful after conflict, difficult conversations, breakups, emotionally charged experiences, or any situation that continues occupying your thoughts long after it has ended.

Guided Cord Cutting Meditation

Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably without interruption.

Rest both feet on the floor and gently rest your eyes.

Take a slow, deep breath in...and slowly exhale.

Again... Breathing in calm. Breathing out tension.

One more time.

Allow your shoulders to soften. Relax your jaw. Let your breathing become natural. Now bring your awareness to your heart.

Ask yourself gently: "Who or what is asking for my energy right now?"

Don't force an answer.

Simply notice who or what naturally comes to mind.

Trust the first person, situation, or experience that appears.

Now imagine that this person or situation is standing comfortably a few feet in front of you.

You are completely safe. There is no need to relive the past.

Simply observe. Notice any emotions that arise.

Without judgment, acknowledge whatever you feel.

Now become aware of an energetic cord connecting the two of you.

There is no right or wrong way for it to appear.

Perhaps it looks like a rope… a beam of light… a ribbon… a vine… or something entirely different.

Simply notice it.

Now place one hand over your heart.

Take a deep breath.

As you exhale, silently say:

"I now call all of my energy back to me."

Watch as your energy begins flowing back toward you.

Notice it returning from every place you have invested your attention, your emotions, your worry, your time, and your thoughts.

Allow that energy to gently return to your body.

Watch it filling your heart.

Your chest.

Your mind.

Your entire energy field.

Now, with compassion, allow the other person's energy to flow back to them.

There is nothing to hold.

Nothing to carry. Nothing to fix.

Only a gentle return of what belongs to each of you.

When the exchange feels complete, imagine holding the energetic cord.

With love, gratitude, and without anger, gently release it. Watch the cord dissolve into light.

As it disappears, silently repeat:

"I release what no longer serves my highest and greatest good. I keep the wisdom, and I release the burden."

Notice how your body feels. Perhaps lighter.

More spacious. More peaceful.

Now imagine a beautiful violet light surrounding your entire body. Allow this light to fill any place where the cord once existed. Notice this light becoming stronger with every breath.

Feel yourself becoming centered, grounded and whole.

Now invite your Protective to lovingly remove any remaining energetic attachments that no longer serve your highest and greatest good.

Take one final deep breath.

Feel your feet resting firmly on the floor. Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes. When you're ready, slowly come back into space.

A Few Things to Remember

Sometimes a single cord-cutting meditation brings immediate relief. Other times, particularly after long or emotionally significant relationships, you may wish to repeat this exercise several times over the coming days or weeks.

If thoughts of the person or situation arise again, don't assume it failed.

Instead, simply notice them with compassion. They may be a sign that another layer of emotional attachment is ready to be acknowledged and released.

Cord cutting is not about forgetting someone’s feelings, needs or wishes.

It is about reclaiming your own energy so you can move forward with greater peace, clarity, and emotional freedom.
