Morning Prayer of Gratitude

Need some words of gratitude and appreciation?

Gratitude is a mental state of appreciation and thankfulness for the environment around you.

Being grateful is a feeling that emits from you when you hold this state of appreciation and thankfulness. It can be felt by you as well as others when you hold it in your heart.

When you feel gratitude for people, things, situations and identify which people, things and situations give you the greatest feelings of gratitude, you naturally start to call more of that into your life.

Think of it like this.

Imagine you tell someone that you really like frogs and they can see that by the frog statues you have around your home.

For your next birthday gift, you may receive a frog dish towel set or a frog themed statue.

Someone may clear out their attic and remember that you like frogs, and give you a box of their old frog themed clocks and t-shirts.

Another person may transition to heaven, and their relatives may be cleaning out their stuff. That particular day, you are on the relatives’ mind as they come across the Swarovski crystal frog collection that now needs a new home.

The next thing you know you have enough frog paraphernalia to open up a frog retail shop, if you wanted to choose that life path.

When others can easily identify what you appreciate, by seeing you express gratitude for certain things, both those in your physical soul group and those on your spiritual team who are watching over you, will want to feed into this healthy state of appreciation.

When others give you things they know you are grateful for, they feel appreciated, which is a good feeling. When you get what you appreciate, you feel good. This creates a positive feedback loop, so it continues.

In other words, the more you identify and express what you are grateful for, the more of that you generally get. How fun is that?

Wouldn’t it be nice to start each day by calling in more of what you are grateful for to get more of it?

As you get into the habit of being grateful for things in the morning before you start any other task, you set your mood to a point where you are naturally calibrated to notice things you appreciate, making you feel more thankful for that day.

When you have things in your life you like, that you know you are grateful for, life in general feels more fulfilling.

Wouldn’t it be nice to feel more fulfilled, even if you’re pretty fulfilled already?

So, to start the day with a sense of gratitude and appreciation, bringing a more fulfilling feeling to this life, let’s say a prayer.

A prayer is nothing more than an intent to call in a certain energy or set of ideas - meaning, you do not need to ascribe to any religion to say one. All you need is an open heart and willingness to set an intent for your future.

Exhale, and let’s say a morning prayer of gratitude -

Dear Spiritual Team and my Highest Self, thank you for waking me up today.

Thank you for the opportunity to breathe another day on Earth and for the abundance of possibilities that this day brings.

I am grateful for the ability to learn new things and to experience this excitement of learning with others who are on this same journey with me.

Today, I intend to see all things with a sense of appreciation and thankfulness for what they are teaching me, providing for me or guiding me to.

I ask now that you please send me more people, things and situations to be grateful for and to appreciate, than I currently believe are possible.

I ask now that you please direct my attention to things, people and situations to appreciate all day today so that I may receive a greater abundance of it.

I ask now that you provide me with ideas for what I need to see with more appreciation, so that I may deliver that appreciation to where it will be best used and allocated.

Thank you in advance for providing me with a sense of immense gratitude when I connect to people, things and situations that light up my soul and create the most happiness in my world.

(Conclude with any other words you would like to say).

And So It Is.

After saying this prayer, start the train of grateful and appreciative thinking by opening your notes and creating a gratitude list by writing down ten things you are grateful for at this moment.

A few gratitude list ideas:

  • A meal to eat today

  • Running water

  • A roof

  • Having a family who loves you

  • Coffee

  • Sunshine

  • Rain

  • Having access to the internet

  • Books

  • Air conditioning

  • Having a bed

  • Seeing a baby fox on your walk

  • The ability to walk

  • Your health

  • Your income

Some of these gratitude ideas will apply to you, some may not.

These are just a few seeds of thought to get you going. You will have other things to be grateful for that aren’t on this list, so feel free to add them!

To keep up the train of appreciation, consider keeping a daily gratitude list like this for at least six months.

Through the above prayer and with a gratitude list, you can learn to be grateful for just about any circumstance and develop an immense sense of gratitude for the world and people around you.
