It's true that you have Spirit Guides to assist you in just about any area of your life.
Practical, business, friendships, beauty, clothing, just about anything you could hire somebody in the physical world to consult with you on, you most likely also have a spirit guide willing to do that work for you, too.
There are spirit guides to help with practical things such as finding the right job, finding the right partner and helping to set you up for the best learning and growing experiences. There are Spirit Guides for the technically impractical things too -spirit guides to assist you with more than just going through the motions of your soul’s journey and life path - but in actually enjoying it.
These Spirit Guides are called Joy Guides.
Joy Guides are meant to specifically bring you to opportunities to have more feelings of happiness, love, wholeness, completeness, and love.
When meeting a spirit guide, most people typically look to a gatekeeper, a protector or a wise advisor type first, but who says joy guides can't be all of these things too?
Their job is to set you up for life experiences that will awaken you to more life experiences that will fill your heart with feelings of joy and delight - this sounds much like a necessary guide to me.
These Joy Guides are specially designed for you to call on when you would think they are least with you - in times of grief, sadness, and when you feel alone, incomplete or separate.
This is also when you are most likely to meet one.
You can call on a Joy Guide anytime you need a boost in:
How you feel
How you look at the world and how you experience it
The type of makeup you wear or the kind of jewelry you own
Your self esteem and overall level of happiness
Your appearance (yes, the better we feel about ourselves, the nicer we are to others and thus the more joy we experience)
Reasons to meet a joy guide over other types of spirit guides
Want to get out of a glum pattern of sadness?
Want to be happier, but don't know how?
Have you been feeling down lately and could use an uplifting experience?
Do you know you are going somewhere fun, and you want to make sure it’s going to stay that way?
Do you wish your life could be less monotonous and more filled with dashes of magic?
If you answered to three or more above, it's time to meet your Joy Guide.
Your Joy Guide could appear as a person, a child, an animal, a bird or a fairy.
They could dress in any way, but usually, wear a fun outfit, and they could appear to you in any fashion, but most are fairy-like, unicorn-like, or child-like looking.
Most commonly, Joy Guides appear in your third eye, in your dreams or by sensations - meaning, you'd be able to sense their presence.
Can't stop smiling lately? It's possible your Joy Guide is already with you.
To meet your Joy Guide face-to-face, here are a few tips how:
1. Go to a place that brings you joy.
Go dancing, to an amusement park, to get your nails done, boating, surfing, on a solo hike - or anywhere, doing anything that brings you ultimate happiness. Do not worry about money right now, be reasonable, give yourself a low-end and top-end budget range, and go. If you are meant to meet them, you can even ask your Joy Guide to help find the extra funds to afford the trip. This is typically when people remember they can use their tips for something or find money in an old backpack.
2. Then have fun there.
Even if you only spend the whole time smiling, once there, set your intention on having the most amount of fun. Do the rides you never do, because you are usually too afraid.
Order the dish, you rarely order, because it’s “too much,” get the nail design you never get because it’s “too outrageous.” Get the extra lipstick to compare it to the other one this time.
Go out on the dance floor and dance the most extreme way, without caring who is around. Have the most fun possible.
3. At the moment when you're having the most fun - now close your eyes.
Take three deep inhalations and three deep exhalations. Ask your Joy Guide, to step, float, or otherwise come forward into your energy space. Then, see what you feel, sense, or hear.
Do you any feel tingles?
Then ask for a name and notice what you see with your eyes closed paying special attention to any images, forms or symbols you see.
Close your eyes and see if one can be drawn out, in your imagination, or if a name pops into your mind - see what comes to you without having to think it up.
Once you meet your guide - and my favorite way to do this is to close my eyes when dancing and imagine who is dancing with me if I were in a fairy tale - you can further identify the nuances of this guide later on in a meditative setting by reading this post. A joy guide is one of many types of guides, which you can learn more about here.
