Buzzing. Ringing. Popping. Silence. Pressure Changes.
These are all common ways to begin to hear Spirit and they're all signs of opening psychic abilities.
The ability to hear Spirit is called clairaudience and it's essentially the ability to clearly hear those who are speaking to you. Whether this ability is enhancing your clear communication with those on the physical realm (living humans, animals and plants) or it’s helping you hear through the veil that separates the physical and Spiritual realms - clairaudient abilities can be a benefit to you and all those you interact with.
By improving your communication abilities and your ability to ‘hear clearly’, you are also improving your ability to connect with all those in Spirit - those who are currently in a body (like friends and family) and also, those without one - such as Angels, Guides and Deceased Loved Ones.
Even if you are interested in simply improving your connection to Spirit, first consider for a moment that we are all Spirit. You, me and your aunt on your father’s side. We all have a Spirit within and the veil that separates my Spirit from yours - the wall that we use to prevent true communication - it isn’t thick. It’s simply a wall of separation.
Scientifically speaking, the veil that separates us from clearly connecting is with Spirit is kind of like a thermocline.
A thermocline is a thin but distinct layer in a large body of fluid (e.g. water, such as an ocean or lake, or air, such as an atmosphere) in which temperature changes more rapidly with depth than it does in the layers above or below
When your ears begin to ring, its a sign you’ve reached this layer - a layer of rapid shift in the temperature, and also density, of two fluids coming in contact with each other.
It’s an adjustment to a density, temperature and pressure shift. If you’ve started hearing these noises on common ground, it’s a sign, you too, are adjusting and nearby a shift.
The veil between the physical world and the spiritual world is a lot like this. It's a simply drastic, semi-dramatic shift between one level of energy frequency and another level of energy frequency. A shift between one temperature and another. A quick transition from one ecosystem to the next. Thankfully, for clear spirit-to-spirit communication, you can easily put your hand through this invisible, yet very real and sens-able barrier that separates two worlds.
Have you ever jumped into a deep pool? If so, your ears may have popped.
Have you ever traveled high up in the air? If so, your ears may have rung.
The ringing, buzzing and popping of your ears is a physical sign that you're standing in the transition zone between these two worlds - or you’ve just moved through it. And usually, you get to this transition zone not by force, not by accident, but by walking over it. By walking towards the ocean, by swimming over to the deeper part of the lake.
If you're recently had a deeply spiritual experience, such as a painful loss of a loved one, the birth of a child, a difficult break up, a major change in your life or through a transition in your belief system – you've walked over to the ocean. You've taken a few steps over to the new ecosystem, that was right alongside you this whole time while you were standing on the sandy beach.
This ringing is a sign, and a gift from your Guides and Angels, for you to know that you are beginning to awaken your clairaudient abilities.
You've begun feeling the waves at your feet, washing up over your toes.
What exactly is the noise, though?
Well, it's a new sound frequency. It's your ears attuning to the subtle changes to the way sound waves move through the Spirit World – the ocean. In different ecosystems – water vs. land – sound travels differently. Also, there are other frequencies Spirit uses to communicate. Many species, even humans as they age and emote, communicate using varying sound frequencies. Some of these frequencies can be temporarily or situationally inaudible to us - but all of us - me and you both - can actually be trained to hear new sounds.
For example, when I first started enjoying Wine, I got it at the grocery store, the same bottle on sale every time - and I still mostly do that, to be honest. But a few years ago, a guy I was dating really enjoyed trying out new, fancy wines to learn the nuances of each grape varietal, soil type, region, etc. Dating him, I was a part of this process. Drinking new wines, he would point out the differences and I would notice them, and over time, I began to realize I naturally expanded my taste palate and that I, too, could pick up and notice slight differences in wines simply by noticing them, practice and careful tasting.
As you begin to hear these new sounds, actually, your Spirit Guides, Angels and Loved Ones, are doing what that guy I was dating was doing - expanding your sound palette by exposing you to new sounds. As you stand at the ocean shoreline, they are sharing with you tiny new nuances in sound to expand what is and will eventually be completely audible to you. In other words, when complete, you’ll actually know what Spirit means when they Speak to you. You’ll be able to communicate the wine lingo with and amongst the best of any connoisseurs - perhaps even better.
Over time, as you observe, hear and make note of new sounds and frequencies, you’ll start remembering and picking up on when you heard that sound before. As you progress, you’ll begin to make associations between certain sounds and certain experiences or as indications of ‘something to pay attention to’ in your life.
Back in my wine tasting days, each time I would taste a new, unfamiliar flavor - and when I was opening up to Spirit - and heard a new, unfamiliar tune - I stopped what I was doing and said, “Wait a minute, Amanda, there’s something here you need to notice”. Each time a new flavor comes your way, when you hear a new sound, you can begin to train yourself to listen, by pointing out, observing and isolating the changes. You'll soon be able to discern messages from Spirit and identify who is speaking to you and when - by the sound of 'their voice' alone.
With each new clear hearing moment and experience, simply, remind yourself:
Pay attention to what’s going on. There’s something you may need to be aware of or take note of here.
To enhance your skills and become the best in your abilities to hear clearly clairaudiently, I suggest hanging out with an expert, training with others, reading books on the topic, and most importantly, see every experience as an opportunity for growth and learning.
And perhaps one day, you’ll open your own winery.
With much love and support on your journey,
