The Spirit You Wanted Didn't Show At A Mediumship Reading

When most people book a reading with a psychic medium, they have only one particular individual they want to connect to.
Thankfully, most psychic mediums have very high success rates at bringing through that Spirit individual - but it doesn’t always happen.
The Loved One that you want to connect with in a reading is not always the same Loved One that shows up to your reading.
As mediums, we do our very best to create the clearest channel possible for Spirit to work through. Yet at the end of the day, a psychic mediumship reading is a three-way process and the medium is only one individual within that process. Your Loved One is another individual in the process and so are you.
Unrelated to the quality of your medium, there are reasons for why your preferred or expected deceased Loved One will not be present at your reading, and someone else comes instead.
3 Reasons Why Another Spirit Than The One You Expected May Be At Your Reading

Reason #1. It may not be the optimal time to hear their message
When most mediums begin a reading, we set an intention that runs along the line of this:
All Spirits in the Light who are present to deliver messages for the highest and greatest healing of all those involved, please join us for the reading.
If the Loved One who you want to come through for a session has a message that would be better delivered to you another time when your soul is more ready to hear, absorb, and process that message, they may choose to opt-out of coming to your reading now and choose instead to connect with you at another time or in another way.
Often, they will send another deceased Loved One who has a more pertinent message to hear at this time.
Reason #2. The Loved One is unable to say what they need to say at this time
When your Loved One transitions out of their physical body, they often need time to process, contemplate, and gain meaning or perspective from their time on Earth.
This period is called the life review and can take an average of 8-12 months to complete. If you book a reading before the life review is complete, your Loved One may be unable to interrupt this process for your reading.
It's also possible your Loved One is doing other things at the time of the reading such as watching over another family member.
If they are busy, usually, someone else in your family will show up for you, but it may not be the person you expect -
Reason #3. Someone else needed to talk first
If your Loved One of choice does not come to a reading - you really wanted your Dad, but your Grandma came instead - remember, there’s a reason for this.
Whoever comes for your session is exactly who needs to be present for you to have the experience that you need.
Perhaps your Loved One was there, though. Sometimes, for example in your first reading in a while, you may have other energies come forward that are stronger and take up the time of the session.
After some of this energy has cleared, sometimes more gentle energy, such as that from Loved Ones, is then made visible.
