What's The Difference Between Different Spirit Guides?

Updated 2020.11.10

In readings that I give to others, I often connect clients to their own Spiritual team on The Other Side. I work to make sure you receive a direct connection between yourself, and your own Guides, Angels and Loved Ones in Spirit.

To each and every reading I give, my own Spirit Guides come and assist. They don’t give the information to you, even though they could, but rather, they are simply there for support for me.

Supporting me in the reading, supporting the energy in the reading and supporting the other Spirits coming through by holding the gateway to connect in the reading.

Having my Spirit Guides present for a mediumship reading streamlines the whole process, almost in the way a personal office assistant may work to make sure the managers and staff at the office have a comfortable place to work, as do the guests who come in for meetings.

For this reason, think of my Spirit Guides as essential support staff.

But when you come to a reading with me, you don’t want to hear from my office assistant, you likely want to meet your own office assistants.

You want to get to know your own Spirit Guides and by now, you may be asking...

Are there differences between the types of information, assistance and support that my Spirit Guides will give when compared to your Spirit Guides?

Are there differences between the types of information, assistance and support given by your Master Guide, compared to your Protector Guide?

Are there differences between the types of information you would receive from a Guardian Angel versus a Spirit Guide?

Spirit Guides have different roles

Just like all people on this earth, all of those in Spirit have different specialities.

We have different soul history experiences and different outlooks and filters used to navigate, interpret and understand the world.

Despite all that, we all come from the same core source and are formed in extremely similar ways, at least biologically.

We are made up of the same building blocks of life and use the same inputs to operate - food, water, sleep. We’re all aspects of the same source, and going farther up, this means we’re all connected to the same source.

All Spirit Guides are unique in personality, appearance, tonality, type of message they deliver, way they deliver it, metaphors they prefer to use, symbols they prefer to give, ways they prefer to get in touch with you, however, no Spirit Guide is better or worse than any other Spirit Guide.

Anything from how a Spirit Guide appears, to what they feel like, contribute to what makes each different, and their message.

When a Spirit Guide appears, they may self-illuminate their color, show themselves as only an orb of that shade, produce a physical noise or a feeling.

These differences give them different roles on your Spirit Team.

I get into the basics of the main Spirit Guide groups and how they appear and come through, their styles, and their roles here: The 6 Main Types Of Spirit Guides: Learn Their Roles And Purpose In Your Life.

The dream appearances to the feeling their energy evokes, are usually symbolically related to how each Spirit Guide is different and their role, what they can assist you with, what message they may deliver.

They are all delivering source information to you, yet, when the information comes to you and is expressed through different channels, aspects, and avenues.

These are sometimes called filters, or wavelengths, coloring or shading the energy of a certain vibration, giving them differences, which often lead to roles like teacher, healer, protector, joy-keeper, they may take on as they guide and support you.

They also often have different communication styles

You may have 3-9 Spirit Guides on your team, from different backgrounds and origins, even with different appearances fulfilling these roles. That said, most of the time, they do not communicate the same, and this is to your benefit.

Every Spirit Guide usually carries a unique signature, often called a calling card.

A spiritual calling card is a way that a Spirit Guide always seems to appear, either a symbol they use, a feeling they give you, or a word you hear when they are near and when they may contact with other mediums to get to you.

It is the way some Spirits appear repeatedly, to you or others, over time, and these identifiers, called calling cards, can remain consistent over time.

The unique way each Spirit Guide comes through, to you or a medium, repeatedly, can help you identify them easier to know who is with you, allowing you to develop trust with a Spirit Guide.

A Spirit Guide’s calling card can be the same physical sign they use to get your attention, like a unique repeating number sign, or bid, or a non-physical sign, like a symbol or color you see in your mind’s eye, or a feeling you sense, when they appear in meditation for you or others.

You can identify a Spirit’s calling card by practicing working with one at a time, such as in a guide meditation, like those in The Member Center, or by calling forward one and only one Spirit Guide in meditation for a month, getting to know which clair-sense, or sign, they use to manifest to you, before connecting with another.

So, both the way a Spirit delivers a message energetically and the way they manifest can differ between Spirit Guides.

This gives Spirit Guides unique ways they can be identified by you or another medium, so you can pick them out as a speaker when doing a cross-test or when getting an outside reading.

They are all rays from the same sun

I like to think of The Spirit World as a giant Sun, and while all Spirit is part of the Sun, thousands of individual rays of light reach out and touch the earth.

They are distinct, they are unique in the part of the earth that they nourish and feed, yet, they are all equal in value. They may rotate where they touch on earth, who they affect, daily or even during certain cultural or societal periods.

Meaning it is possible to see a Spirit Guide for a while, then have them seemingly vanish for a few years, only to return later, usually reporting where they have been when asked.

During this time, you get to know any of the other 2-8 Spirit Guides on your team, allowing you plenty of time during this lifetime to get to know all your permanent Guides in this life.

If you are wondering if information from a Master Guide is better or worse than information from an Ascended Guide, think of it as simply coming to you from a different ray or using a different frequency to get through, which is why they may feel different to you.

The wording used may be different, the tonality in which you receive it may be different and the way in which you apply and use that information in your life, may be different.

I often think of individual Spirit Guides as colors on the rainbow wheel and their messages part of the painting. All parts make the scene complete.

We all have access to the color wheel, and we all have Guides that reflect and represent each aspect within that wheel, who help guide us through and complete the painting of this soul journey.

Regardless of which aspect a Spirit uses to appear and the difference of their role in your life, they are all equal in love, strength and their ability to promote healing, positivity and abundance in your life.

All Spirit Guides are rays within the Sun, all contributing to the overall power, energetic strength and resonance of the sun itself. The Sun could not be the sun, without the strength and contribution of each ray and each ray, could not reach earth, without the greater contribution of the Sun itself.

All Spirit Guides contribute to Source. All Spirit Guides connect to Source.

Thus, if you receive a reading from another person’s Guide, or even, a Spirit Guide you have not met before, simply consider, this information may be full of equal vibrancy in strength and importance, to the messages of those you already know.

To end, the role a Spirit Guide has, also usually contributes to how they look, feel or deliver messages, usually very much like how a birds’ song, look and appearance all give you information about that being’s role or message in the great cycle.

You can do the same interpretation for spiritual beings, when they are sensed in meditation, spiritual or mystical practice.
