Reader Q & A: Spirits Are Calling My Name. What Does It Mean?

I have a question about Spirit manifestation. When I was younger, I was constantly having my name called by Spirits. My question was always: why have they used familiar voices (instead of their own)?
Also, one time one appeared to me, as my little sister asking where our mother had gone. I went to answer her only to realize that she had gone with my mom to run errands.
Answer
In some cases, hearing an unfamiliar disembodied voice can be startling to a person, and make them think it is an intruder.
If you have a Spirit who wants to contact you without scaring you and getting you to turn around/respond - it may try to mimic that of a familiar voice.
It's a way to get you to notice them, but be more open to it and not be immediately afraid.
Another possibility is that this is a Spirit Guide or relative guardian Angel, someone that you know closely, they will often speak in a way that is similar to our own, as they do not have voice boxes in Spirit, and your voice is part of the residual energy present, so it is easier.
I have also found that Earthbound Spirits will sometimes use the voice of someone nearby to get another person’s attention. This is also common with fairies and Earth Spirits, and it is often seen as a way to play games with the living.
Some Spirits do only contact humans for entertainment.
Often Spirits will make a voice sound like someone you know to be more approachable, to ride the residual energy of the space, or to have fun with the living. The first two are considered ways to gain trust - if you sound and feel like something familiar you are more likely to trust it and let it be.
The third, related to Spirits having fun with the living, if you notice this happening frequently in recent times, this is usually an indicator it’s a good time to meditate and tune in, and see if there are messages from Spirit for you, or space clear, to release any Earth Spirits or Earthbounds who may be ready to cross.
These are just a few reasons why this can happen and if it happened early on, it can also be a sign you are clairsentient, or having the spiritual gift of being able to hear The Spirit World.
