How To Safely Use A Pendulum
For communicating with The Spirit World

A pendulum is any weighted object that is attached to a long string or a cord.
This combination of the weighted object and the cord - is the pendulum. A pendulum is designed to freely move back and forth and side to side with any small shift in energy.
While you can literally tie any object to any cord, such as a penny and a shoestring or a crystal and a flexible copper wire wrapping cord, in most cases, the weighted object of a pendulum is an earthen object - a metal, a stone or a wood - and the string is a fine-linked metal chain.
Pendulums can be used as a physical tool to connect with those in Spirit and they are best for binary questions. That is, questions that can be answered with a simple yes/no or an either/or type of decision.
You can ask those in Spirit around you to communicate the answer to you by swinging the pendulum bark and forth (front to back) for one of the answers and then side to side (horizontally) for another one of the answers.
Generally, when a Spirit is asked to answer a question through a moving a pendulum,
A swing from front to back = yes
A swing from side to side = no
I currently have three pendulums, one in Clear Quartz, one in Citrine, and one in a form of Granite. I use them to physically demonstrate the energy of Spirit when excitedly weighing in on a question that I, a client or someone in my family has.

The best way to use a pendulum is connect with Source Wisdom is
Choose a pendulum that resonates with you.
Hold the pendulum with your thumb and forefinger of your dominant hand.
Take a deep breath and focus.
Call in your Spirit team with a prayer or invocation.
Ask your Spirit to swing the pendulum in the direction which will mean YES and then ask them to swing the pendulum in the direction which will mean NO in response to your question. This way, you know what you are looking for in an answer.
Ask for the pendulum to return to a still, stationary resting place.
Ask your question.
Whichever way the pendulum swings, this is your answer.
Usually you are looking for a direct, strong swing for YES or NO.
If you get a circular or weak swing, re-phrase your question, then ask again. If you keep getting a weak swing, this can sometimes mean The Spirit World isn’t answering it yet, doesn’t have a message, or it can be an indication to try another pendulum, or sign it’s time to energetically clear the pendulum.
This method will often require the asking and phrasing of several different questions, to make sure that you get the clearest, most well-rounded and meaningful answer.
Spirit works to communicate with you using a pendulum by shifting the energy in the space around the tool, causing the weighted object to shift in response to that energy shift of the air around it.
Meaning, sometimes, pendulums work better in places where the air is more spiritually charged.
For example, in your meditation space or near a boulder, waterfall, or anywhere with lots of built up positive energy. In another example, for new moms, sometimes this is the nursing chair or for men, sometimes this is the game room or another craft space.
Finally, the most common question I am asked about pendulums is related to your Higher Self.
How do you know you are communicating with a Spirit Guide, Angel or a Loved One or simply your Higher Self with a pendulum?
Your Higher Self is a Spirit (you), so regardless you are still communicating with Spirit, but the ‘who’ of who you are communicating with always depends on who you call in to answer the question.
If you call in your Higher Self to answer, that’s who is shifting the energy to create your answer in visible form. If you call in your Guardian Angel to answer, that’s who is moving the pendulum.
If your Deceased Loved Ones are with you, they may be influencing the swing, this is why when you begin with calling in the energy, it can change what energy source is influencing it.
Can you overuse a pendulum?
Pendulums are subtle energy sensors that work by responding to energetic vibrations present in the room or emitting from local energy sources. When a pendulum absorbs too much energy, you may want to energetically cleanse it with sage or moonlight to reactivate the energetic sensors in the pendulum itself.
Pendulums on metal chains can dry out and become brittle from frequent use and this will affect how strongly it responds. Your pendulum may need to be replaced every 2-3 years, if you use them as your daily driver divination tool. So in short the answer is yes, a pendulum can wear out due to use.
