Hey, and Welcome to April 2020!

This month’s Cards of the Month will feature just one deck, the Moonology Oracles Cards, for a special feature.

Illustrated by Nyx Rowan and written by Yasmin Boland, the Moonology Oracle Cards was published by Hay House in 2018.

The deck features silver gilding on the cover, 44-cards, and a 119-page interpretation booklet.

The cards themselves are matte finish, thick card stock, easy to shuffle, the backing of all the cards in this deck is a cycle of the Moon in all phases.

For the past three Cards of the Months, I’ve featured an Oracle Card, a Tarot Card, and an Affirmation Card for the month's cards all from different decks.

The Oracle Card, to illuminate a helper for the month. The Tarot Card to identify where things are on the path. The Affirmation Card to give a mantra to work with when moving through the theme that month.

Because April is the official full month of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and typically, this symbolizes new starts and an influx of fresh positive energy for all, I wanted to feature one deck for this month, to start the energy vibration off clean, whole and dynamic.

The moon affects our daily lives.

It can influence everything from emotions to planting cycles, to when we are at our most intuitive.

I’ve written blogs about how to track your intuition with the moon cycle, your cycle with the moon cycle, and I’ve even featured articles about the best moon decks before.

So I love the moon, and this month, I hope you’ll join me in loving it to hear what it has to say for April’s guiding energies.

For April Cards of the Month, I pulled three cards

  • One to represent the past, the motion already in play

  • One for the present, what you can do to work with the energy that's already in motion

  • One for the future, representing the outcome of this cycle

So without further ado, let’s get started on April’s Card of the Month for past, present, and future -

A new start is coming!

New Moon

The Moonology Oracle Card deck is broken out by Moon Phase Cards, New Moon Cards, Full Moon Cards, and Special Moon Cards.

This card is amongst the Moon Phase Cards. Although it is a new moon card, it is a primary clean phase of the moon, unlinked to any zodiac.

The Moonology Oracle Cards have thirteen cards for new moons, one for each zodiac, and one that’s just a blank new moon card unattached to any sign. This card is that card.

The New Moon card represents a blanket new start and being in the past position, it means this is already in motion.

To me, the New Moon card feels like a clean desk and a new project. It gives the energy of a new state towards a new goal. It means the past is cleared away, and you have a chance to start again.

The New Moon card tells me that something you’ve called in has been given to you, and now the ball of clay, represented by this the fresh new moon, is in your hands to mold it, shape it and work with it.

This is not a card of completion; however, it does symbolize that whatever you were enmeshed in is now over.

And it’s time to start giving your attention to this new start, rather than looking behind you. Personally, it reminds me of the whole story of Lot's wife and the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah.

It's a message not to look back.

Think of this card giving you a new thing to mold.

Image you’re a person at a potter’s wheel with a new block of clay you’ve started to spin.

To shape it, looking over your shoulder and twisting your body to see who’s around may throw the clay off at an angle and guide your hands in a direction that would change your new masterpiece.

This card says to focus on the present.

Something new and surprising is now in motion.

Think of the last thing you wished and hoped for. It’s now in your lap, along with the time you need to work at it. Focus on the resources to shape it, and this moon will evolve in phases and eventually reach its full potential.

This card is also a highly promising YES card.

Best of all, there's nothing you need to do to activate the yes. No mystery action to turn the dial, a new start is just happening. It says that a Yes is happening to your request is happening, and a Yes is on the way.

Whatever you wished for a month ago, even a week ago, is what this card is likely referring to as the new start.

The path is clear, and a fresh start is in motion already. As you focus on growing this new direction, your new beginning will eventually reach its completion.

Work through your fears

New Moon in Scorpio

The next card in this three-card reading is the present moment card.

The present card for this month is the New Moon in Scorpio, which is the queen card of working through fears and subconscious dark energies.

Whatever was put into motion in the immediate past is set, which is good because it's a new start answering a wish, and this card tells us the energy we can use to work with what we have.

If you've ever heard the phrase new level, new devil, this card applies here to talk about this.

Whenever we have a new start or a fresh beginning, we are doing it on the edge of our comfort zone, so, naturally, some fears must be confronted now to go beyond that zone.

Afraid to share your writing, art or new idea with the world?

Time to confront that devil and publish something.

Confronting fears does not have to be fire and brimstone all the time, though, it can merely be one courageous action a day. It’s just now time to do it.

This card tells us that now is the time to face and work on whatever comes up as you move into this new start.

You probably have the tools to do it, you probably even know where to find the fears to root them out, because Scorpions are highly resourceful creatures.

Scorpions usually live on ecosystem floors and eat detritus there, while they conserve their energy and hide from predatory birds.

They can be quite proactive and energetically responsible as they accomplish their goals, and likewise, so can you.

Fanfare in the scorpion's case is not needed to overcome fears this time, as this card suggests more personal confrontation of worries.

Because it is also New Moon card, it tells me that whatever fears are worked through, it’s going to benefit this new start.

Anything coming up in April as fear or worry, this card says it’s time to meet it.

You have the tools to work through it, beyond it, and stay calm, perhaps even under a log or a rock while you address it.

New starts are all about conserving energy in the physical world, so think about the Scorpion's resourceful quietness and the word boot-strapping here.

No need to energetically overexert yourself to overcome fears this month, think about what you can do in your ecosystem, small little changes, and address them each as they come up, asking,

What can I do now to take care of this?

Also, know any work you do to transcend a fear will provide a return to your new start mentioned in the first card.

With the New Moon in Scorpio card, know none of the concerns you overcome this month will be for naught.

Prosperity lies ahead

New Moon in Taurus

For the third card, we have an even better card than the two before!

What's the outcome of the new starts and the overcoming of fears this month, well, it's none other than a fresh start in prosperity.

I squealed when I saw this card come out as the future or outcome card for this month.

So far, our past card and our present card were New Moon cards, and our outcome or future card is also a New Moon card.

Like three cherries on the slot machine, this symbolizes new starts all around are being created by the actions generated this month, and the outcome of it all is, you guessed it, prosperity.

Whenever you see a prosperity card in a final position, it advises us to think about some things, some steps, or some actions taken either in the immediate past or present where rewarding results have been identified.

Where have you seen prosperous results in the past month while working towards your new start?

Is there a way you can keep up the hard work here? Place another order of that thing that worked out and made your life more comfortable from the last month? A way you can invest in the work that keeps the train going this way?

If so, take some of these steps, and continue to dig in, because the result is Prosperity.

Prosperity cards usually mean financial prosperity, but they can also mean generous opportunities, relationships, and other means of physical wealth.

So open to receive, especially towards the end of the month.

The New Moon in Prosperity card also depicts Taurus. Taurus is an Earth Sign, symbolized as an archetypal Bull.

Bulls are gentle creatures, they can be stubborn, but that can be good as bulls are security-minded creatures.

So, given the symbolism, this card also tells me that the prosperity that is coming is intended to be likewise gentle, loving, and kind.

You may have to embrace a tad of the bull's stubborn and firm energy to get this prosperity, which can be liberating and empowering, especially if you have tended to be more easy-going in the past.

To embody this energy and call it in quicker, think about all the positive things you can about those who know who were born under Taurus.

They are diligent, they are hardworking, they are thoughtful and they forward towards a goal, though not necessarily aggressively.

See about adopting any of these qualities this month to bring this goal towards you even more quickly.

“We often feel it’s somehow wrong to focus on our finances, but the truth is that money can make life far more comfortable from a physical point of view.

Taurus knows this and the New Moon in Taurus is the time to work your magic to create the money you want so you can have the creature comforts you want.

Remember, though, that someone else is still wishing for what you already have.”

New Moon in Taurus for the outcome card suggests that the thing you are dreaming of will soon be something you can afford.

Get clear on what you value, and this guides your direction to peace in the physical realm, especially where it comes to provisions and creature comforts.

Are you ready to be stubborn yet peaceful like the bull to get this outcome?

So to recap, for the April 2020 Cards of the Month

April 2020 Cards of the Month, A New Art Is Coming New Moon Card, Work Through Your Fears New Moon in Scorpio Card and Prosperity Lies Ahead, New Moon In Taurus Card, standing up in a line, photo by Amanda Linette Meder.

We have a blanket New Moon in our immediate past, the New Moon in Scorpio in our present, and the New Moon In Taurus in our future.

New, new, new, everything is new.

Think about your biggest wish - yes, that one. It has now been given to you to mold and shape like a ball of clay.

Focus on the present, work through fears presented to you this month, and this will ultimately guide towards prosperity.

What are some successful moves you made when you felt like things were new?

Is there a way you can continue those actions like a Diligent Taurus?

Perhaps reordering things you need or focusing on the things that have worked and continuing that direction to see even better results?

These cards all suggest that by May, this new pattern that has begun will be fully set into motion, so any change-struggles you work through this month, know these will subside by the end of the month for a new, fresh, and prosperous start to May.
