When I was first dating my boyfriend, he was interested in learning anything and everything about Spirits, Mediumship, and whatever related to the Other Side.

Wake Up is a documentary film about a pretty regular guy, Jonas Elrod, who woke up one morning suddenly able to see and hear angels, earth spirits, auras, and ghosts.

The film is an inside look at his journey to understand these newfound abilities. As a co-star in the movie, his girlfriend, and her attempts to understand are also featured.

As Jonas outwardly says in the movie, this film is designed as a call to consciousness for others to begin to realize that the world of Spirit is indeed real and around us every single day.

His sharing this journey is a gift to others going through it.

At current writing, over 10 years after the film was released, there is still no other media documentary that does a better job of explaining to the world what it is like for many people when they wake up to full-blown, full-power, mediumship.

This is the best one.

With that said, when you watch, it is essential to remember that not everyone who is a medium has an experience that matches Jonas.

Mediumship gifts all manifest differently, meaning some mediums will tune into certain realms of The Spirit World better than others.

Not everyone can see Non-Human Energies, Angels, Auras, or every single aspect and element of The Spirit World.

Some people only see Earthbounds, some only see Angels, some only auras, some can sense empathic energies.

Some mediums can only sense and see the deceased, while other mediums can see auras and Angels more clearly, while still others have a much better time at noticing Earthbound Spirits.

Depending on the purpose of each medium, and the reason for their abilities, what they see, sense, and hear will be different.

Still, if you're a medium, and learning to thrive with your abilities or have a partner, friend, or relative who wants to learn too, watching Jonas' journey can provide peace, comfort and some idea of what life is like for other mediums out there when they open up.

Mediumship Movies. Psychic Films. Wake up the film is a great documentary following the journey of one psychic medium. Photo of blue bokeh lights by McDobbie Hu on Unsplash with text overlay, Wake Up (2010) A Film Review.

I suggest this documentary to anyone who

  • Is developing their mediumship abilities

  • Wants to understand what it could be like to be a medium

  • Wants to get to know The Spirit World and how they can impact the living
