Ghosts and Earthbound vs. Spirit - There are Spirits, and then there are Ghosts. Two different players in the game, both without physical bodies, but very different in essence.

What is the difference? Why does it matter? Which types of Spirits do mediums connect and work with?

Ghosts are glamorized.

They are what is portrayed on televisions, ghosts are what movies are made about, and what books are sold on.

The Spirits I deal with are often far-less sensational.

They are loving, supportive, sweet and caring grandfathers, mothers, and dogs . . .and far less commonly talked about.

What are Ghosts?

Ghosts are a type of energetic mass (living or not) that has not left the physical realm once its time was complete.

A Ghost can be any residual energy lingering in a space after whatever created it, has since gone. 

Ghosts can be from people who are still alive, and have left the space, but their energy has stayed. This is why in love songs, you often hear about the ghost of someone who is no longer there - it's their energy that is still lingering - and it's a very real phenomena. This is called 

Oftentimes, ghosts create a heavy, dense feeling in a space, because they are so closely tied to earth. If you walk into a space and suddenly feel like a heavy blanket has dropped on you, there is a good chance a ghost is with you - a remnant energy from a previous emotional event, or a human being.

All ghosts feel dense. The more closely tied to the earth a human ghost or how recent the event, determines the level of denseness, or powerful, the energy in the space. 

Ghosts, both human and residual energy, can communicate with you through images, pictures, and sensations. 

What is an Earthbound Spirit?

An earthbound Spirit is a ghost that is human. It’s a type of ghost.

These ghosts have died, and left their physical bodies, and for some reason, have missed their opportunity to cross over into the Light. This opportunity is presented to all Spirits, in the event of the death of their physical body, and most Spirits, immediately take this opportunity and move into the Light.

Earthbound Spirits, because they are human, need human energy to exist in their state, and many earthbound Spirits can be found in places with many people for this reason.

Homes, cities, downtown areas and busy roads are typical places for where you can find them. They can also be found in places where lots of death has occurred - battlefields, cemeteries, funeral homes, and hospitals. The reason for this is simple: without a renewable energy supply, travel is very difficult.

Are there Earthbound Spirits that are malicious and mean-spirited?

It's not very common. It is more likely that an earthbound Spirit is like you or I - a well-meaning human - who is afraid, confused, or dazed.  

Earthbound Spirits typically project onto the space a heavy, but also nervous or afraid feeling. Some people find that Earthbound Spirits are cold or chilling in feeling - as they often draw on your heat (energy) to sustain themselves.

Remember: It is most likely their energy, worry, concern and fear you are picking up on, rather than your own.

You might even be able to sense another person is around, but unable to see or hear them, and they are often unable to communicate with words or images using divine energy, and rather using another human energy that is around (likely yours) to connect. Thus, it can be difficult or draining to connect with them. 

What is a Spirit?

Spirit is any being or energy that is fully in the Light, and existing in the Realm of Spirit. They are sometimes called crossed over Spirits because they are fully in the Divine Light. Typically, this refers to human Spirits (deceased loved ones), but can also refer to Angels, Spirit Guides, animal Spirits, or plant Spirits.

They are crossed over into the Light, and here, crossed over Spirits use Spiritual Energy to communicate with humans. 

Of all persons that die, MOST of them cross into the Light. 

Crossed-over Spirits are surrounded in and with love, compassion, understanding and grace. 

Thus, the presence of a crossed Spirit feels good, tingly, warm, and exciting.

Imagine being filled with warmth as you drink a satisfying cup of tea in winter, or receiving tingles from a gentle back scratch, or sensing butterflies like you are climbing a roller coaster (some people feel this is more similar to an adrenaline rush).

This feeling is the main difference between sensing an earthbound and a crossed over Spirit. And, many people do not realize the presence of a deceased loved one for this reason - it feels good - and there’s no cause for alarm.

Usually though, we only ‘notice’ that which feels un-good - which is why many believe Earthbound Spirits get so much attention, a skew in perception. 

Choose wisely who you surround yourself with - in this world and the next.
