Honey and Sage Co - Sage Women Subscription Box Review
I was very excited when Honey and Sage Company offered to send me a sample of their Sage Woman Box to review. I've wanted to try all the different subscription boxes out there, but running lean and mean on a business machine often makes it hard to do. So that's why I was so happy when Honey and Sage Company offered to send me their beautiful June Sage Woman Box.
Honey and Sage Co. offers subscription boxes, postpartum support and herbal wellness for women. The Sage Woman Boxes you can get in a series: one, three or six months subscriptions for the price of $55, $150 and $300 respectively. They attune all the products within the boxes for the seasons.
I got their June edition box and as you can see here, lots summer oriented stuff and full size products. Some of the products are those that I myself consider the creme de la creme for self care.
My favorite product of the bunch in this box was the Vitamin C Tea which tasted like refreshing tart berries and came out this beautiful color (caveat: my boyfriend is a professional tea nerd and he staged these photos). We iced it and drank it hot.
Basically, it's all gone by now and given that this is the Sage Woman June Box and this is a free radical combating tea and it's great iced, I was so excited that this was exactly what I was looking for but I didn't even know... and, it's perfect for summer.
That was actually the best part of the box for me.
As I was unboxing, I was all "ohhh, ahhhing" everything and I felt like all the things in the box were all things I was looking for, needed, wanted but didn't know I did. That's the best part about subscription boxes period: they open up your awareness to new things in your experience that you would've never been exposed to before. It's like having a bunch of new options and paths to take, show up right at your front door.
You know how sometimes you go to a seminar or a class and you're like wow: I had so many of these questions but I didn't know what to ask so you didn't ask anything. That's what getting this Sage Woman Box was like.
Now for their heavy hitter in the box:
The Skin Soother
Honey and Sage Co. makes a lot of their products themselves and will include those products in the box, but their Skin Soother with Aloe + Helichrysum was special to the box and the coolest part about it is it feels like you're breaking open a milkweed and putting it on your skin (for those of us that did our own herbal remedies as kids, you totally do that).
The Skin Soother goes on milky but winds up clear.
Made me want to go out and get a sunburn, but I didn't guys - I didn't. The box also included Urban Moonshine Hawthorne Extract, a crystal bracelet and a soothing Revitalizing Face Mask from Seoul Mamas.
Seoul Mamas makes Korean Facemasks from soft non-irritating bamboo fibers and as everyone knows, masks are a staple part of Korean Beauty Routines that are enlightening everyone to a new skincare routine option that's more gentle than the traditional American Way beauty routine, and more appropriate for sensitives, overall. So I was happy to see these included in the box.
Urban Moonshine is that creme de la creme company of herbal elixirs I was talking about before. When you bring up their name in the herbal community everyone is like: oooh, wow, Urban Moonshine yes, they're great.
Anyway, the positive vibes about Urban Moonshine are for good reason. Urban Moonshine, located in Vermont, is a company most famous for the digestive bitters and tonics, which is what this is - a tonic.
So... is this box for you?
All in all, I thought the contents of the box were very seasonally focused, perfect for summer, supportive for all the summer health and wellness concerns we have, and completely on point. If there was an health, herbal and self care wellness CSA, that would be this box and it's completely price appropriate for what you get. I'd be interested to see what's in their other boxes for the other seasons, because this one was so dazzling to me. Not to mention all the full size products. For $55, that's a good value. My favorite part: I even had enough to give a few products out to my friends, which made me feel even more like a Sage Woman than I already was.
