The Herbal Tarot Deck is a 78-card system that features all medicinal plants to embody the Spirit of each plant, shown through the Minor and Major Arcana energy.

In this month's interpretation, I'm pairing two Herbal Tarot Cards - one to represent the guiding energy and the other to represent the underlying energy of the month.

The guiding energy shows where things are going, and underlying energy represents what catalyzed that direction.

Then, four more cards from The Spirit Cats Inspirational Deck, one for each full week of the month.

This suggests the ambient energy for the week that the viewer can use to move closer towards that guiding energy.

Cats, sometimes found in or near house gardens, are revered Spiritual Animals since Ancient Egypt and are thought to govern over the mysteries of the other world, and protect food supplies.

To me, Garden Tarot Cards and Cat Inspirational Cards go together. We have a Cat Statue in our garden to represent this energy.

So if you have a palace cat around or an interest in herbal medicine, you'll enjoy this June's Cards.

To begin, just as a disclaimer: The Cards of the Month Series is a card interpretation highlighting amazing artists and timeless symbolism. They represent my interpretation of art. The cards may say something else to you.

Always remember you can call upon your intuition when it comes to how these cards may relate to you right now in your life.

Even if you are just here for fun, no worries, part of that is why I'm here too.

Let's get started and just as a refresh - I'll be pulling six cards to represent:

First Card: The guiding energy, where things are going

Second Card: The underlying energy, where things have been

Cards Two Through Six: One card for each week to represent the best energy to carry when moving towards the guiding energy

Guiding Energy

Page of Pentacles

To start this month, we begin with where things are going, and they appear to move towards the Page of Pentacles.

In The Herbal Tarot Deck, the Page of Pentacles is represented by a young woman.

She is sitting next to a giant Blue Flag Iris, holding a pentacle in her hand, gazing upon it with intent.

She sits on the ground in a focused position, and her tools are ready to use.

The Pentacle is a five-petaled flower rather than a five-pointed star as in the Original Rider Waite Tarot.

Pentacles are a minor suit in the standard Tarot Deck. In general, Pentacles typically refer to wealth and wealth-building.

In traditional symbolism, the Iris represents the link between Heaven and Earth. On this card, it towers over the Page.

With a person focused on a coin in hand, being watched over the Plant Spirit symbolizing a link to the Heavens, it suggests the focus on the coin is related to more than the coin itself.

Perhaps suggesting there is a Divine Charge for the intent.

When thinking about The Guiding Energy, or any card in the Tarot, sometimes it helps me to think about what cards come before and after it. Knowing where it is in the Tarot Storyline, helps.

The Page of Pentacles comes immediately after two fortuitous cards in the deck - The Nine of Pentacles, which is a lady in the garden with the luxury bird enjoying wealth. Then comes the Ten of Pentacles, a man and a woman having everything they could ever want for generations.

So The Page of Pentacles is someone who has achieved both those things in the past. To me, it speaks about a person pursuing this coin for reasons beyond that now.

This card is a good sign if you are thinking about taking a class or reinvesting into a trade. Also, with a lush greenscape in the background, it's a symbol you are going back to some craft, already having had some success.

The Pentacle in the deck looks like a seed, though, so to me, it symbolizes some new project.

If you've already invested in a career, this is a sign you're focusing intently now on a new project and branching out.

It's also safe to say that you'll be guided by some Source Higher than material wealth, given the Iris that towers over you.

So this is the energy where things are going this month - a positive sign for a new apprenticeship, reinvesting in something, or planting a seed.

Given the Iris, it signals a Higher Source is also guiding the process.

Underlying Energy

XVI Garlic - Tower

To know where things are going, we also look at what has been, and energy released as we move forward.

This is the underlying energy card, it's the most recent past. While this energy is fading out now, it's still affecting things.

You can call it the card that catalyzed the guiding energy.

For this month's underlying energy, we have The Tower Card.

The Tower Card is the quintessential example of the everything-just-fell-apart card, and now there's a dissolution happening.

In the Tower Card, a Large dominant structure now crumbles to the Earth.

In The Herbal Tarot Deck, The Tower Card shows the truth of what is really happening in every Tower Card we experience in life.

A new light is born underneath.

Every time a Tower falls in life, light builds within. Usually, it's a skill set you can use from which you later reap the rewards.

This ball of light that glows as the Tower Falls is represented by Garlic, which is planted in the Fall when the rest of the Surface of the Earth goes dark.

Garlic thrives in dark, cold environments. It just goes underground to do it. Then, in the Spring, about 6-8 months, you have a food and spice loved round the world.

So to me, this card tells me a new light started building within, as some structure in the recent past fell.

The good news is that this card is in the past position, so whatever happened is done. Still, the card also tells us not to forget about what's happening now underground, with the Garlic glowing in the foreground.

It's a great protection card, so if something has happened, know you are protected.

In the Tarot, The Tower Card appears right before The Star Card, which is the card of redemption. For me, that represents the pursuit and availability of dreams.

Then comes The Moon Card, immediately after that.

The Moon Card represents intuition and the ultimate illumination of all truth in the darkness, a prize people have sought for thousands of years.

So when I see a Tower Card, I always remember those dreams and ultimate illumination that follows.

This is why some readers of the Tarot, including me, sometimes look at the Tower Card with excitement, because you know the dream is next in the series of scenes.

So having it here with the Page suggests that perhaps this new investment, the redemption after the Tower has fallen, is coming.

To work through these energies, and flow with it, this month -

I'm now going to cover four cards, which can be seen as set-points for each week this month, as you move through June towards July.

If you are joining us later, think of what was happening each week in June and see if you can line it up with what’s happened in your life.

Week 1

Catalyst

This month, the first week, our guiding Spirit Cat is Luna, the Catalyst.

She comes from the 48-card inspirational card deck with the interpretations on the backs of the cards.

When we look at her, on her forehead is a crescent moon.

She's sitting on the infinity symbol with pyramids behind her. Luna is also wearing a necklace made of infinity and feather-like design.

This is a cat who knows mystery well and also understands it, probably for thousands of years.

If there were a Magician or Alchemist in this deck, Luna would be it.

The all black and white design of this card can symbolize the balance of light and dark, or the yin and yang present in any catalyzing relationship.

From the back of the card, a short clip of Luna's message reads:

"She is the maven of breakthroughs and revelations. When Luna crosses your path, you might feel a shiver, but do not be afraid. That is only the first sign of a miraculous shift."

This week, pay attention to the shivers and touches of magic you feel, where are those psychic tingles guiding you?

Tap into your inner mystery and mystique.

To me, this card is reminding you that this energy is there to use. It's been there for thousands of years, but this is just a nudge it's extra present to use this week.

Week 2

Courage

The Spirit Cat with us for week two is Alice, who represents Courage.

An all aquamarine card, it reminds me of the colors of Archangel Haniel, one of the Angels of Beauty and Pleasure.

The Courage cat is a little more playful than our last cat, Luna, and seems more like the one encouraging you to look at things upside down and to play.

Surrounded by swirling flowers and leaves, this is a cat that flows with change.

From the back of the card, Alice's message reads:

Meet Alice. She is small, but brave, jumping headfirst down the rabbit hole. Although the unknown may seem scary and fraught with danger, we should always hold faith in the beautiful possibilities and discoveries awaiting us. True courage is listening to our intuition and moving in the direction of our heart's deepest yearning, even when we are afraid and want to turn back to our comfortable, familiar world. Trust yourself enough to take that leap. And always remember: no matter where you land, the ride will be strange, magnificent, and oh-so-worth-it.

To me, this card is all about moving with intuition and courage, yet playfully and soft in mood, given the coloring of the card.

For the second week, consider taking Alice's message with you to guide your actions.

Week 3

Connection

For the third week, leading up to the Solstice this month, we have The Connection Cats.

This is a group of Spirit Guide Cats that want to talk to us about connection. I'm pretty sure this is one of the most beautiful and fun cards within the whole deck.

On the card, you have a bunch of technicolor cats, connected by strands of what looks like party lights, seated on stakes. Each cat is just as exciting to look at as the last one.

Their message is connection and that we are all connected.

This week, embrace connection. We're in Gemini, which is a social, air-lead astrological sign, too.

The energy is supporting you to get connected to others and to foster the connections you already have. If you can make special efforts for connecting with others this week - do.

From the cats of connection, a snippet on the back of this card reads:

The Spirit Cats remind us that we are not alone. We are a web of connections. Our attitudes, actions, and energy ripple outward and touch people in ways seen and unseen. No single action stands alone. Each action, idea and feeling is born out of countless influences, and in turn, has its own unique effect. We see this most clearly and dramatically in our innermost circle. But this also extends outward to humanity, the Earth and the universe. Our consciousness dances together: challenging, uplifting, teaching, learning, questioning, reassuring, inspiring and loving.

This is the ultimate butterfly-effect card.

So if you are practicing the law of reflection, this card is a sign you may also see indications for proof of the web of connection this week.

Week 4

Meditation

Finally, for the end of June, we have the Meditation card.

We are ending on a super calm card.

Need to ground? Need to rest? This card indicates these are supported ideas this week.

Meditation is anything that clears the mind and opens and balances the loving heart.

The Meditation Card has a message brought to us by Chutney, a Spirit Cat who is the embodiment of Smoky Quartz if you were to put that energy into a Cat.

Floating in cream-colored, golden light surrounded by the colors of dusky rose and brown, this is a nurturing card if I ever saw one.

It says s-p-a-c-e and light all over it. If you look closely, it even looks like this particular cat has wings or what could be fins in the fur. Suggesting this cat has the adaptations available and in use for a little floating in reality.

From the back of the card, an excerpt reads:

Meet Chutney. One day, after a particularly deep meditation, he began to radiate and float. He loves to, simultaneously, be fully present in his body and his Spirit. By simply closing his eyes and observing his breath, he is able to feel what is truly going on within himself. Each subtle sensation becomes vivid with its own unique texture and energy. His mind is like the wide-open sky and his thoughts are like clouds floating by. He watches them arise and dissipate without judgment. Practice with Chutney and watch your awareness brighten until life itself becomes a moving meditation.

This card suggests meditation this week is available to help you float through. For the last week of the month, clear the mind and breathe a little, this card suggests you have the space already.

So to recap, for june 2020’s cards

Photo of an array of The Spirit Cats Inspiration Cats Cards turned upright and The Herbal Tarot Deck cards with backs up on top, with the spread of June’s Cards on white antique table top. The Spread of cards from L to R: Page of Pentacles (guiding energy), Catalyst, Courage, Connection, Meditation, and The Tower (underlying energy).

For this month's cards, we have:

The Page of Pentacles, a reliable support card suggesting soon you'll be branching out, investing in a class or expanding at work or at a craft that involves Pentacles.

The Tower Card indicates something fell apart in the physical world in the recent past, and something is now glowing underneath.

The Spirit Cats provided us with four set-points we can move through each week starting with Catalyst, the change Cat.

We then have Courage, Connection, and Meditation to close the month.

The cards indicate something optimistic, and by honoring alchemy, intuition, connection, and meditation, and you get there.

While the Tower Card is here, it's happened.

The residual energy still lingers, but it works itself out, through the process of change, starting right away, with Luna, the Catalyst.

Closing the month with Meditation, this suggests by the end of June, the viewer achieves floating peace, perhaps through all the focus placed on this new Pentacle.
