Many things linger in hotel rooms from scent to emotion to spirits.

From scents to emotion to spirits, I know I've been in some sticky spaces while travelling.

The normal go-to for space clearing is smudging, and you can't always use this in a hotel room, due to the no-smoking policies in many. So in this post, I cover a few alternative methods for clearing the energy of a transitional space.

try an ionbox

The use of crystals is commonly recommended for clearing spaces and with reason - they work.

But say, for example, you have to travel light, a Himalayan salt lamp isn't always going to fit in your luggage weight requirement.

Furthermore, crystals, however beneficial they are, often get picked up by airport agents, so carrying them can waste time and alert gate agents, possibly prolonging your trip. 

So what do you do if you want to save time and travel light, yet still be able to clear your space once you get there! 

I recommend trying something like a portable ion generator, for example, the Ionbox. The Ionbox does the same thing crystals do - emits high vibe energy into the space - but it takes up less space, works faster and most importantly... it weighs hardly anything. smudge sprays 

They work the exact same way as burning smudges, but rather than emitting smoke particles into the space (particles which 'grab onto' and help drop out the energy), they work by using water molecules to do the same thing.

It's a much cleaner way to clear and great for people and dogs with allergies, not just for hotel rooms, to boot.

send clearing energy to the room before you get there

Ever hear of distance healings? Meditations for world peace? Sending prayer to a place or a person? 

Well, research shows that it works and perhaps more importantly, that you can do it too. 

To clear a hotel room, just send clearing energy to it before you get there.

This works even if you don't know what room you have yet, because you'll just send clearing energy to the whole hotel. Gifting all with cleaner space energetically. Go you. 

Calling in your angels and ancestors to help clear the space before you get there.

Visualize yourself doing this on the plane, bus or car en-route. I like to imagine clouds of loving pink and crisp blue-white light extending from me to the space I am going and completely rinsing the building or property my room will be in.

If I am feeling extra-zealous, I will also visualize this light covering the road or flight path in front of me.

don't forget... sound clearing works too

Sound can also raise the energy of the room, helping to clear it and bring you up to a place where you actually feel settled into your space. 

You can clear a space with a singing bowl, tuning forks or even a meditation audio track. Music that makes you feel good works to raise the vibration of the space, too.

So to recap

- Experiment with the Ionbox

- Try space clearing energy with a smudge spray

- Give energy healing a chance - try Reiki or another form of healing light

- You can also use sound healing, chants, meditation tracks, and simply spreading out your energy to make the space feel like your own

Most importantly, when it comes to space clearing hotel rooms, it's that you feel at home in your new space, for however long you're going to be there.

So settle in, spread out your energy, unpack your bags and as you do all of those things, try out a few of the techniques above. Your hotel room can feel as close to home, as best as it possibly can, in virtually no time at all.
