February 2020 // Cards of the Month

February 2020 Free Reading, Cards of the Month Photo by Amanda Linette Meder

This post is a new series that will continue throughout 2020. And just as an FYI, it includes affiliate links to a few of my favorite oracles and books.

Welcome to beautiful February 2020!

It's the start of Aquarius Season, and if you are reading this from the Northern Hemisphere, we're right in the middle of the depths of winter.

February means the month of purification, and to purify, so hopefully, anything you gain this month from the cards will assist with any cleansing you are doing in your life. Whenever a cleanse happens, things tend to move up to a higher level.

I can be fond of winter because where I live, it's one of the only times of the year that you can see through the forest. All that is usually concealed by leaves and undergrowth becomes visible. Seeing what was once invisible is often integral to ascending in any area of life.

The first two decks I've been working with and have had for several years, so I'm very familiar with the symbolism, and what it all means and the third deck, well, it has the meanings written right into the cards themselves, so the interpretation is very evident.

If you were with us last month in The Membership Program, our Inspirational Figure and our Suggested Media were both law of attraction related.

So having our third deck this month be part of the same thread, to me, is a nice flow through for some of the themes we saw last month.

For this month’s Cards of the Month, just like last month, I have chosen cards from a Tarot deck, to go over the general theme, a card from an Oracle Card deck to demonstrate a way to move through it, and we'll end with an affirmation card, as a suggestion for an attitude to carry as you navigate this month's energy.

Then, we'll finish up with a few inquiry questions to ask if you'd like to look deeper into the meaning of this month's cards.

February 2020 // Cards Of The Month

Self Reliance

the general theme for February

Our first card this month is the number 77 card from The Wolf Pack Tarot.

The Wolf Pack Tarot is a favorite Tarot Deck of mine and similar to other Tarot Decks in that it fits into a 78-card system, but that's just about where the similarities end.

The Wolf Pack cards themselves are horizontal rather than vertical, as regular Tarot cards are, and each Tarot card features a wolf, going through some aspect of wolf life in a northerly climate.

Some of the cards are happy cards, such as the Reunion card, but the deck also features a fair amount of realistic cards, true to the color of wolf life.

February's theme card is such a card.

The Self Reliance card features the up-close illustrated image of a wolf's face, pictured in a way very much like how in film, when a character looks to the camera as a way to acknowledge to the viewer they realize something is happening and there are no words to say. They must just do it.

All the Wolf Pack Tarot Cards feature an interpretation of two lines underneath the card name, right at the top, and this one reads:

"77 - Self Reliance

You will not be able to rely on anyone at this time in your life. Know that it is only a temporary situation. Your strength and hard work will get you through this crisis."

To me, this card tells me that determination is the central theme this month, and this card has always spoken to me of someone rolling up their sleeves and getting to work.

Have something that needs to be done this month?

You will need to be the one that needs to spearhead the campaign to do it.

Have a project that only you see the importance of?

Time to stop explaining and get started.

If a wolf had a mission to do, it would be time for them to gallop off and get running and soon you’d see him two hills over. This card is always a temporary card when I see it in readings and typically, the outcome is one of a person regaining their power.

In a full reading, sometimes you see this card paired with an Alpha card, symbolizing that the work done in this card, will lead you to an Alpha position.

The self-reliance card tells me that strength and resilience are needed now and to me, it also demonstrates that now is not the time for emotion, but to get to work, because there is a victory to win.

The wolf pack pull for this month says you will need to rely on you, and your higher or inner strength to accomplish something big this month. And, you will also have to be the one to head up the gang on going after it if you are working on something as part of a pack.

Typically happiness and joy cards follow this card so I never cry too hard when I see it. I just know it’s time to work.

So if you have a project or a big task that needs doing, roll up your sleeves for February, nose to the ground, and get it done.

Which brings us to our next card -

What energy can you use to assist you, or what is coming through to assist?

The Thinking Woman

a way to move through this month

I love seeing her. I actually tried to pull another card for this month and she came back twice.

I love it, and seeing it especially along with side projects that need to be done or problems to be solved. When I see it in a reading, it means someone wise is coming forward and on your side.

The Thinking Woman is card number 47 in the 53-card deck, The Energy Oracle, which I recommended for years almost exclusively in my private readings, because of how fair it is.

The Energy Oracle was first published in 2013, and they are big and glossy, and so if you have petite hands, you may need both hands to shuffle them, rather than holding in one hand and shuffling with the other.

While the cards do still have a sheen, the gloss’ stickiness has worn off over the years as I’ve broken this deck in. So if you’re purchasing new, know they don’t stay sticky forever, which I’m thankful for. The less sticky the cards, the easier they are to shuffle.

Although these cards are large and can be cumbersome to handle, I've always had undeniable pulls with these. These cards are notorious for having the same card appear more than once, if the energy hasn't changed, or if you reshuffle. These cards are consistent.

So when I pull positive cards, like The Thinking Woman we see today, as well as the more negative cards in the deck, like Envy, either way, I know it's to be trusted.

The Thinking Woman suggests that a woman is coming into your life now who has the wisdom to share, and you can trust her. The Thinking Woman also indicates to me, always when I see it, that now is the time for pragmatic thinking.

She carries a book in her hand, and she's dressed in beautiful clothing and make-up suggesting that the Thinking Woman's ideas have gotten her to a place of wealth and luxury and that by listening to her, you may get there too.

Whenever I see her, to me, it is a sign that rational, yet gentle and kind yin style thinking is necessary here. She always suggests to me that a fair thinking mind is needed in the situation in which she appears, but a fair logical mind doesn't mean it has to be impolite or even harsh.

Her whole appearance symbolizes gentleness and grace. There's a yellow butterfly in the shot, which symbolizes both joy and intuition together. So there is wisdom coming forward here.

With all her books around, it suggests that she's done the research, and thus is giving you appropriate guidance from the multiple sources she's consulted. Of the cards pulled this month, this is the only deck that comes with a book, and from it, a segment reads -

"The Thinking Woman - Female of Wisdom or Understanding

This woman could be a friend who helps you express and understand your feelings, or she could be a teacher brought to your life at this time to take you in a new direction…

... like The Thinking Man, the card could represent a side of yourself that's ready to blossom and bring clarity and assistance into the world."

The 176-pg mini guidebook that comes with the deck also suggests using the affirmation; I am thoughtful focused and clear to connect with this card and energy.

The thinking woman could be you, but whether it is you or another, when I see The Thinking Woman, it suggests that focused, clear, gentle feminine wisdom is what will get you through the card above.

Carrying this energy throughout this month and being open to a wise woman coming forward will be what is needed to move through the energetic situation you're in.

Now, that we know this month will be one of self-reliance and we can get through it by relying on a wealthy and wise Thinking Woman energy, let's look at an affirmation we can use to ascend beyond this month's energetic theme -

It Is Not My Role to Make Others Happy

an attitude to carry as you navigate this month's energy

The third and final card for this month is the 45th card of the 60-card Money and the Law of Attraction Cards, one of the only cubism-abstract style art decks on the market today.

If you love modern art, and those who create within the Pablo Picasso style inspirational lineage, you'll really like this deck.

The card pulled from it this month is just as rational as the other two, and also one of the more grounded law of attraction cards I’ve seen, going right along with our thread for this month.

See this content in the original post

Like The Spirit Cats Affirmation Cards featured last month, these laws of attraction cards have 60 different art designs on the backs of the cards, and the affirmation descriptions on the front.

No two cards are the same, and you can shuffle them with description up, art up, or my favorite way, with my eyes closed to make sure I’m not biasing it.

These cards are again quite large compared to standard playing cards 2.5 inches wide X 3.5 tall. They're 3.5 wide x 5 inches tall. So if you have petite hands, you'll need both to shuffle them. They are also high gloss, so they may need to be unstuck when you first get them new.

When in juxtaposition with the two cards above, this card to me speaks to the idea that this month's focus ought to be on you.

Self-reliance and rational thinking are needed to get through a project or a temporary situation. With that in mind, this card suggests the only role you have this month is to keep yourself in balance.

Pay attention to how you feel and practice empowering thoughts that align with who you are. The back of the card reads that when you do this, you will offer an example of thriving that will be of great value to those who observe you.

This card also tells me that a self-reliant focus paired with wise action guided by either your own internal thinking woman or another you meet, when observed by others, will be of value.

From the card itself, the caption on the back reads:

"It is not your role to make others happy; it is your role to keep yourself in balance.

When you pay attention to how you feel and practice self-empowering thoughts that align with who-you-really-are, you will offer an example of thriving that will be of tremendous value to those who have the benefit of observing you.

You cannot get poor enough to help poor people thrive or get sick enough to help sick people get well.

You can only uplift from your position of strength and clarity and alignment."

When I see this card, it speaks to me the question, is there a way you have previously disempowered yourself to relate to others?

Is there someone you can help from a place of power rather than going down in the trenches with them?

If so, now's the time to change, charge ahead, and get to the brass tacks. With the thinking woman by your side, it suggests doing so may have many benefits, for example, luxury and wisdom could await.

So to recap, for February 2020

February 2020 Oracle Card Reading, Cards of the Month, Self Reliance Card, The Thinking Woman Card, and It Is Not My Role To Make Others Happy Oracle Card, photo by Amanda Linette Meder

The theme is self-reliance, and the Wolf Pack Tarot card above suggests that a temporary situation is underway, where you will need to be the one to spearhead its solution.

The Thinking Woman symbolizes that clarity, focus, and wisdom are going to guide you through this and to be open to a wise female ear who may be able to help guide you with a gem as you get through this period.

If you determine the Thinking Woman may be someone you know, rather than a force rising within you, pay attention to the one who is where you want to go.

To rise through the energy this month, focus on you, and avoid trying to please others, especially in disempowering ways. If you've complained to relate or ever diminished your work to connect, this month is not the time to continue a similar pattern.

The money attraction cards remind us that you can't get unfortunate enough to help someone thrive, and your example of thriving and resilience will benefit those around you greatly this month. Most likely, in more ways than you can ever know.

Those who are around you will witness your strength, and if you are in a crisis, The Wolf Pack validates that hard work and persistence will get you through it.

Can you think of a temporary situation that needs solving? Can you get to work on it, even if it means late nights?

Is there a wise woman whom you can listen to for advice or who has recently given you information worthy of following?

Is there a way you can put emotions aside this month and showcase thriving, resilience, and perseverance for others around you this month?

If so, you'll be on track for success all February long.
