21 Influential Spiritual Blogs of 2017

Every year, I clear my cache, settle in with a coffee and some of my favorite music, and I scour the internet looking for new websites, keywords in my niche, and industry gaps. I check in on what my peers are up to, find out what's missing in the intuitive industry writing world, and check in who's new, who's a rising star.
Things change so rapidly in internet publishing that it's really best if I do this twice a year, which I try to.
The way I think of it is like every year I'm starting a new research project.
Every year I'm going to be evolving as a person, so what this means is I'm going to be writing about something new and learning something new. So before I dive into the work, and drive home an old, overdone topic, do a small literature review to see:
what's out there
what's been done
whats being done and by who
where I can add expertise
what topics have been overplayed
what topics don't exist at all on the internet
and thusly, where my expansion may be needed or could be used
It's like I do my own little runway show of the latest fashions, but for the spiritual writing world online. And this year, I'm sharing it.
Not surprisingly, year after year, I come across many of the same sites, but then again, I always find new sites popping up that I'm pleasantly surprised I didn't know about before, or I'll see sites that were on page nine or ten of my searches just six months ago or last year, and they pop up in the same search at the top of Google, this year.
When this happens, I always squeal with joy for the author, because it means all their hard work is finally being paid off. And they don't always know!
In my searches, it also becomes clear whose blogging a ton now, whose let off the gas a bit, and switched to another platform or strategy, and whose operating on an alternate platform entirely (some people have a wonderful time networking on search engines like Instagram and Pinterest, for example like Astrology and Angel Mediums has done).
With that said, I wanted to share with you some the biggest blogging/internet publishing spirituality influencers in the industry this year that have been coming up in my search after search.
First of all, bravo. TO everyone. I can't stress enough how cool to see friends doing well and rising up. I literally squeal at times, showing off pictures of photography I love some other medium to my boyfriend, or to see the advancements in Youtube that have been made since by another intuitive in my industry.
Secondly, if you're reading this list and you're in the industry too, all it really takes is about six months of elbow grease on Google Marketing and learning how to write and script for an online audience, and you're good as gold. You're here. That, and de-javaing your site so websites can crawl it better. (Well, Java is kind of outdated now, so this last point may be somewhat obsolete moving forward).
SO, without further ado, here are some of the most influential spiritual writers out there on the internet this year, starting with the individual writers (#1-11) and then moving into the writer-collective websites, like magazines and group bloggers, at numbers #12-21. Below I explain how I chose each site.
The 21 Most Influential Spiritual Blogs of 2017
Okay, so that's the list.
There were many great websites out there that it was hard to choose, but the main qualities that went into choosing the sites on this list were:
How frequently each site came up in spirituality based keyword searches
The variety of topics on the site and the content of the material mattered. For example, I didn't highlight websites focusing on more negative-based type writing content.
And again, just how ubiquitous the reach of each site was in Google histories and keywords, was the primary selecting factor. If you're into research, this was the primary quantitative data point I used here, where other points were a bit more qualitative. Sociologists, you get me. Ratings one to five on the last four.
For anyone whose additionally curious: I cleared all my historical cache searches before doing this, and I did this same search from multiple different browsers, and multiple machines as well, comparing my evolving list of keywords with what and who was coming up time and time again.
So there you have it.
Introvert, Dear and Old World Witchcraft, Spiritual Awakening Process, are a few other golden favorites of mine and the photography on this medium's website is just simply out of this world, so I have to mention it here. There are many ways to market a craft that isn't Google-based, and many intuitives have been using platforms like Instagram and Pinterest to get their messages out there with huge effect. So what I'm saying is: this list is great, but it's not the end-all, be-all of everything out there. And truth be told, the writing industry is much like the music industry to this effect: rising stars can change within months, or even in just days.
