Wayfinders: Why Are They? Who Are They?
When someone questions your path, your reason or your purpose, it gives you an opportunity to question your path, too. And this is a good thing.
The questioning of others is always a great prompt for you to:
Remember the true motives behind your work
Decide if where you are going is indeed the right place for you
Adhere closer to your truth
Taking some time to consider these things is an essential part of aligning to your truth.
When someone questions you and your path, consider that this person may be a soul who has been placed intentionally on your path as a wayfinder.
A Wayfinder is any Soul that you encounter that prompts you to take another look at the map, so you can redirect if you need, or reassert the direction you are going and why.
A Wayfinder helps you realign to your truth - whatever that may be.
Isn't it so that each time you make a big change in your life and shift up in a major soul level kind of way, lots of Wayfinders appear right before and right after that change occurs?
Think of any change as a fork in the road. Then think of your Soul Journey as a road with many forks.
At each fork, you are presented with an opportunity to:
Take the familiar, thousands of years old path of safety and well-worn trails or chart a new path all your own, breaking free of your previous patterns and limitations and meet a Wayfinder.
Wayfinders can be people, spirit guides, angels, dreams or signs that act as trail signs, that say, are you really sure you want to go that way?
They're not meant to correct you or even turn you around, think of them like the troll on the trail or the one who guards the gate. Sometimes you have to pass them, as a way to think.
Their underlying purpose is to make sure that you evaluate your choice and know that indeed, this is the absolute truth you want to follow at this time - even if they are not consciously aware of this being their purpose. With their help, you are given an opportunity to review your life choices while you are still here - and live a better life in the moment.
When you encounter someone who:
- Attacks your prices
- Criticizes your work
- Insults your way of life
- Pokes at your core values
- Makes fun of you or launches a troll page
They’ve probably been placed on your path intentionally to help you find your way. Are they being guided by their spirit guides? Perhaps on some level. Perhaps not. Perhaps it's just a random thing.
Sometimes, when you encounter one, it is a cue to move as far away from the realm that person in as possible. Like they are the straw that breaks the camel's back. Other times, it's an opportunity to rephrase their energy to ask yourself:
Is this the way that really is right for me?
Questioning your journey is essential to staying on the right path. And many times, we don't do it enough ... unless presented with a prompt.
Look within. Don't necessarily change your path, but ask yourself, Am I ready for this? Why is this bothering me so much?
In her book, Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford, Debbie talks about the importance of embracing your dark side, so that insults no longer bother you because you've already embodied all your flaws and equally recognized them in others. Eric Meyers of Soul Vision Astrology also talks about the importance of doing this, embracing all the negative aspects as well as the positive aspects of the self. Perhaps now is the time that you do this too.
Wayfinders help you focus on embracing your dark aspects so that when someone points it out, you couldn't care less because it's nothing new to you. And also, you begin to recognize that darkness, is also within them because usually, when someone points out an insecurity of yours, it is really, an insecurity of theirs and it is you who is helping them heal it in themselves.
