When I was a little girl, I lived in an old victorian home.
There were three bedrooms upstairs and there was only one bathroom.
This bathroom doubled as not only as the only bathroom in our house, but also as the entrance to the attic.
The attic door, though latched, never did stay closed. It had a habit of creaking open, right as you sat down to go potty. As a five year old girl, it terrified me.
I also developed a few coping strategies.
First, before closing the main door to the hallway, (therefore isolating myself from the rest of the family where no one could potentially hear me scream), I would walk all the way to the back of the bathroom and verify that the attic door was indeed fully latched shut. The latch, was similar to that of a gated fence - when it was closed, it stayed closed - unless someone pressed the lever down.
This only sometimes worked. Those other times when it didn't, the door would come swinging open, right when I started peeing. As a little girl, who didn’t have full range control of her bladder - this left me in a terrifying predicament with only two options -
Get up and run out, risk peeing all over myself, and my brother making fun of me for the rest of my life.
Or, getting caught with my pants down, frozen in fear, when god knows what, stepped out from down the attic stairs.
So, I did only what I knew how to do best. I asked my mom.
She, like all moms do, had a few great suggestions.
Psychic Protection Tips from my Mom
According to my mother, bad spirits hate things that are good. In fact, 'good' repels them. Anything good that you do, say or have - will cast them away from you.
Her first order of action was to buy me a hot pink stuffed rabbit, that when you scratched it paws, smelled like jelly beans all over the place. A scratch-n-sniff stuffed animal and I loved it.
Solution #1
Take your rabbit with you to the bathroom, make sure to scratch it’s paws before stepping in, and bad spirits won’t be able to come anywhere within the good-smellin’ radius, which I would then be in the middle of. A jelly-bean scented force-field.
This worked for a while, but as I scratched and scratched it’s paws, each time I had to pee (little girls have small bladders), the scent wore off. And, within a year, it stopped working. Jelly bean rabbit no longer had the same effect and the attic door started swinging open again.
Not knowing where else to turn, and with such a good idea last time, I asked her again.
Going on the same theory that 'good-things' energy create a force field that keeps 'bad-things' energy out, her next idea was for me to sing a happy song that I liked.
Solution #2. Sing a Positive Song
Choose a song, that was easy for me to remember and I enjoyed to hum, sing, or play it on my cassette player as I walked into the bathroom.
So, I did.
This is the only thing that has ever worked and continued to work in my childhood.
Now, as an adult, I know this works.
By filling and surrounding yourself with high vibrational energy, you keep anything lower out - naturally. Like often attracts like and by making your light big enough and bright enough, there will be no room in your life for shadow.
A friend shared with me a song she wrote for psychic protection for her little girl.
...to sing when she is scared of bad spirits.
You can teach your own children a song for psychic protection.
It works, and it’s empowering. It teaches children that they can affect their environment and that they are in control of what they welcome into their lives at all times.
Teach your kids a psychic protection song, they can sing when they are scared, alone and you are unable to help them yourself - such as after bedtime, at school or when they go potty by themselves.
Here it is:
Spiritual Protection Song
I want the bats out, and the their dark evil stares.
I want their cousins out and out of my air.
I want them out, out out out, I want them out!
I want your angels, and spirits of the light.
I want your love in, as long as its mine.
I want the light, light light light, I want the light
Sing to Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance" and the kids love it!
That’s it.
Try singing that to your little one and imagining a white light sheild around them, too. Placebos really do work!
With Love,
Amanda
PS - When I cleanse my own house, I still sing along to upbeat, positive songs. I put on the stereo and as I sage, I also take the time and the joy in dancing it out :). If anything, it lifts my mood and naturally, the mood of my surroundings.
