The spiritual perspective how and why precognitive abilities exist -
Precognition is the ability to see, hear, sense and know an event or situation taking place in the future.
You sense something happens and then it does.
This ability to have foreknowledge of an event is one of the main ways that the realness or importance of your intuitive skills may begin to dawn on you.
The knowledge or sense of the occurrence of an event is more than predicting behaviors of those that you know, love and care for - it’s an intuitive ability to be able to see things that happen in the future for events, people or places, where you have no logical reason to know this information.
Know something will happen to someone not connected to you at all?
Precognition is the ability to know the truth before the truth makes itself known in the physical world and it can start to occur in dreams, in meditations or in intuitive readings that you give to yourself or others.
With precognition, you'll have the ability to see all aspects and spectrums of the future, as long as it’s aligned and in your highest good to know.
Fortunately, just because you see something that will happen, this doesn't mean you'll be able to prevent it.
It also doesn't mean you'll be able to see all events. A prophetic person might be busy transcribing one while another comes through. It's just like a journalist not being able to cover every story.
Also, some foretold events are already in motion and us seeing them is more for preparation, less and life-altering action you need to take. More like a "brace yourself" type of message.
At this point, you may be asking, "If you can't stop the precognition, what’s the point in seeing it? If it doesn’t really matter what I can do, why is it being shown to me?"
There are a variety of reasons as to why you may see and be aware of the future, below are the most common.
With the ability to tap into energetic and spiritual events that already exist, you are tapping into Universal wisdom.

1. To Make You Aware Of Your Abilities
Have you doubted your predictive abilities? Has someone made you believe you've not still got it?
It’s impossible to pre-know the future without having some intuitive, psychic or spiritual connection!
Sometimes, there’s no way to stop a future event from happening, especially not something that’s out of your complete control - like a client disaster, someone else getting in trouble at work, or a relationship changing. Anything with another person involved means you cannot 100% control it - even if you can see it.
However, knowing this information before it happens, is one of the most remarkable methods of validation of clairvoyant spiritual gifts there is.
Sometimes a seer will see a future event to validate their gifts, connect them to other clairvoyants or the gift will just show up to remind them of their power at a much needed time.
2. To Help You And Your Soul Group Prepare
Knowing a future event and being given the pre-knowledge of a future occurrence, insight into what happens if you take a certain trip or go down a certain road, is one of the ways that those in Spirit help protect, guide and assist you on your path.
When we are given awareness about the future, sometimes we are also given the opportunity to alter our path and take another route.
Thus, future predictions and future scenes are not always destiny, but rather, merely an option for what could happen, should you choose this path.
The knowledge of a potential future event, in some cases, is an opportunity given to you to change the outcome, or the destiny, if you want to. It also helps you brace for what could be, mentally or even logistically.
It could also be your Higher Self’s way of helping you energetically prepare. It's like being shown what is potentially ahead of the turn up the road; you can use this information to plan your trip and adapt.
Knowing the future has one caveat - it does not imply complete pleasure with what is shown. Sometimes yes it does, and the future works out in your favor. Other times, it just suggests accepting the truth, whatever it is.
So this gift does not guarantee you are going to immediately want to accept it, move into it, or appreciate what you see, but it can help you adjust your expectations so that your overall resistance to what is, is less creating longer term happiness.
3. To Support Others
To be made aware of a future occurrence for others, such as in a prophetic dream, in a clairvoyant reading or a client funded shamanic journey, is an opportunity for you to assist and guide others.
Still, at times, precognitive information is given to you from Spirit or the Universal Source, as an opportunity for you to adapt and shift your future behaviors to tailor them to the needs of others better.
For example, if you sensed someone needed help, you could use this information to schedule help ahead of time, for when they arrived or were ready to receive it.
Remember you cannot always prevent an event just because you can see it in the ethers, or pieces of it in the astral light. You can also not always control future events involving many people. So when you have precognitive gifts, it helps to give yourself a lot of grace when it comes to bearing the burden of responsibility.
Precognitive information is much like being given a weather forecast.
When you can see the weather, you can best decide your plan of action, and adapt to the future patterns; but just because you can see weather coming doesn't mean you can always direct the patterns. Someone or something else is in charge of that.
