The main difference between nightmares and night terrors is essentially the night terrors are the lucid version of a nightmare, meaning, they are more intense and are often characterized by feeling very real, like a message.
Nightmares and night terrors, regardless of who sends them, are caused by a discord, a pull and a push, a battle, typically going on in one's life.
And sometimes what happens is our spirits try to send us messages through our dreams especially if we are suppressing them while we sleep or not getting the hints while we're awake. It can be easier to hear our own messages while subconscious anyway, as we don't combat them as much that way.
By providing you with a visual scene to describe a situation to you, some spirits feel they are assisting you in understanding a situation so that it may be resolved.
Psychics tend to get them more than others because they are more sensitive to stimuli and therefore pick up more stuff and often tap into the psychic realms while they sleep - seeing things neither good nor bad - as those judgments aren't even cast til waking. Sometimes it is clairvoyance developing.
To prevent yourself from tapping into unwanted realms while you sleep or from picking up mixed messages so you can really know you are receiving messages from your guides or higher self, try:
- Placing protection gems and crystals around your bed
- Using an aromatherapy device to keep the vibration high and stable around your sleep space
- Taking some time to inventory the essential oils of your home, some, like Cedarwood, can create more lucid terrors
- And clearing the energy of your home
All of this will make sure you're tapping into the right guidance and messages, albeit sometimes unpleasent, and still able to get some sleep.
