All mediums are psychics but not all psychics are mediums.
I’m sure you’ve heard this fancy quote before. And when I first heard it, I thought it myself, “Yikes, what a harsh statement.”
So, are mediums some sort of elite bunch that can do everything and psychics have some sort of limitation?
Not exactly.
There’s one huge difference between the two, though - it's where they get the information in their sessions.
Psychics perceive the information from their client.
Mediums receive the information from Spirit.
Okay, seems like a big jump right?
Psychic readings and mediumship readings are on two opposite sides of a pendulum swing, but they’re on the exact same path of that pendulum swing.
Psychics Defined.
Psychics intuitively perceive information from their Client, who is a Spirit inside a human body.
Thus, psychics are getting information about their client from the Spirit and the energy and circumstances surrounding their client. Their client, who is a Spirit wrapped inside a physical body. Psychics receive information from the Spirit of their client, and the energetic and physical body surrounding that spirit.
Mediums Defined.
Rather than getting the information from the Spirit sitting right in front of them (the client), mediums intuitively receive the information from a Spirit sitting behind them - usually a loved one, guide or an angel.
Mediums, get information about their Client who is also a Spirit from another Spirit without a physical body, who generally personally knows the client.
If the person focuses on getting information from the Spirit sitting in front of them, it’s called a psychic reading and that person identifies with being a psychic.
If the person focuses on getting information about the Spirit sitting in front of them from another Spirit who knows this person, it’s called a mediumship reading, and that person identifies with being a medium.
Both a Psychic and a Medium can do both or either, it's simply about where and what they are focusing their abilities on during the reading itself.
And many psychics/mediums/intuitives have a preference.
In fact, many practicing mediums start learning psychic readings, until the pull of their pendulum starts to swing the other way.
If you are already getting information from human Spirits (in intuitive and psychic readings), it’s just a matter of shifting your comfort level to start receiving and perceiving information from un-seen Spirits (those fully in the Spirit Realm - the Deceased, Spirit Guides, Angels).
Thus, all mediums are psychic - because they generally start out that way and you have to use your psychic abilities to communicate with spirits.
But, all psychics can also be mediums - by using their abilities to perceive energy, information, emotions, thoughts and events from the un-seen world.
It’s not an extra gift that only some psychics have - it’s simply a shift in focus.
A swing of the pendulum another way from perceiving the Spirit in the physical in front of you to perceiving the Spirit in the spiritual realm all around you.
