There are a lot of ideas out there on what someone needs to do to develop their gifts and more importantly, what you need to do to be a psychic medium.
There are social stigmas about who psychic mediums are, what they look like, what they wear, where they live, what they're into and what they do.
So when a medium is coming to terms with their gifts and deciding who they should be, there are questions we have - what do I do? Is there something I should be doing . . .or not doing?
I have plenty of articles on what you do to develop your gifts - and this one is for the other - so relax -
5 Things You Don't Need to Do To Be A Psychic Medium
1. you don't have to give up coffee
While I myself have talked about the benefits of drinking more water, eating more grounding foods and taking vitamins for improving your gifts, you don't have to subscribe to a certain diet to have better abilities or to be a 'good' medium.
I have been judged for drinking coffee and being a medium, and while the truth is that for some, coffee is too acidic and makes you a little unnerved, for me, I feel it helps improve my readings at times.
There are other foods you can still eat and be a great medium, too - red meat, potato chips, sweets, Diet Pepsi, and more. All things in moderation - that's my rule.
2. you don't have to move somewhere 'spiritual'
There are places on this Earth where the Spiritual energy game is strong. These places are known as vortices.
For many sensitive people, living somewhere with crazy energy is actually pretty intense.
Sedona was out for me, for this reason.
Spiritual people exist in every place on Earth - so you don't have to move somewhere special in order to develop your gifts or find classes to learn about your abilities. Online classes and communities are available everywhere - and it may actually be better to have a Light source right where you are.
3. you don't have to suddenly start reading people
Not everyone is meant to be, has a personality or a purpose that matches that of Theresa Caputo.
As a medium, if you decide to use your gifts publically, remember you can choose to use your abilities how you want. If it's not your personality to get on a stage - don't worry - you likely won't have to.
4. you don't have to change your vocabulary
If you are normally a sarcastic person who curses - that's okay - lots of psychics are. Being a Spiritual person is so much more than a change in the way you talk or how you relate.
To develop your gifts, you don't have to suddenly start sending blessings to people you've never met or start 'Namasting' every time you end a conversation. You also don't have to end every email with 'Love and Light,' if that's not you.
5. you don't have to lie about who you are
Most people who know you right now are going to accept your gifts.
If you are currently keeping your abilities from your friends and family (as I was at one time), please know that after a few difficult conversations - it's generally over - and those who love you - those who really love you - will keep loving you regardless.
The more honest you are about your story and how you got to where you are now - the more the social stigmas of what it means to be a psychic medium will change. So, be diverse.
You don't need to fit the mold.
After all, there really isn't one ~
