One of the most common complaints and worries I receive from is regarding ‘bad readings.’
I'm also not the only psychic medium who has blogged on the issue.
A ‘bad’ reading is is a concern for both a psychic medium themselves and the person who receives the reading. No one wants to offer or receive something of lower quality - especially when they are simply trying the best they can.
Giving or receiving a bad reading isn’t all that common place, but it does happen - and it’s one of the worst fears of many practicing psychic mediums and one of the biggest worries of potential clients.
Despite a medium's best attempts, even the most accurate messages delivered from Spirit can be considered bad or inaccurate, descending on whose perspective you're taking in.
"Bad" readings can happen to any medium.
On these occasions, a reading could be perceived as bad, even when it isn't:
The client receives messages they don't want to hear
When the client doesn’t totally click with or get the the message right away
The messages given all pertain to deeper concepts not immediately in your client's first reference frame of mind
The Spirit who came through is someone your client didn’t expect or didn’t know very well
The reading is rich with some serious metaphor, symbolism or focuses on a new concept for the client
When a reading like this happens, as psychic mediums who want you to have the best experience possible, we will sometimes freak out.
And guess what - if your loved one was not an expert communicator here on Earth, or had trouble telling you their feelings while alive ... they haven’t changed much. Many mediums will naturally struggle with getting the deceased - many of whom are just re-learning how to communicate in this new way - to be clear.
Think Over Your Reading
There is always a reason for every reading that is given. Whether it is for you to learn, for your client to learn or for both people to get something out of it - there is a lesson in what is happening now.
It's possible you had a bad or off day. It’s possible that Spirit had an off day. If anyone is ‘off’, in the three way connection that is mediumship, it can definitely affect the clarity of the reading.
Feeling cloudy, overwhelmed and confused? Better clearing, grounding and centering before your reading will make it easier for you to listen, pay attention and focus during the reading itself, which can help you understand and receive the message better.
The best medicine for giving a reading you weren’t happy with is to let it go and try again. Just like any bad taste left in your mouth, the best solution is to cleanse the palate, then replace the bad with something anew.
