There's a Spirit at the foot of my bed, who is it?
It wasn't until I started continuously waking up in the middle of the night, sensing a presence at the foot of my bed, that I decided to take my mediumship abilities seriously.
These days, I set boundaries with Spirits and have asked them to not come into my bedroom while I’m sleeping - and they mostly follow those rules - but it wasn’t always that way.
Spirit loves to visit at night.
Not because they’re creeps or because they want to scare you, but because it’s one of the easiest times to get your attention.
You’re alone, you’re free of any other distractions and you’re most able to sense when something is awry. After all, you wake up from a peaceful state with a normally peaceful state around you - it’s easy to notice what one is not like the other.
It’s much easier to notice a difference when you are used to things being the same all the time.
We are so acclimated to having our bedroom feel and be a certain way to us, that when there is something else in the space, we notice - easily.
It’s not like the hustle bustle of a train station - where energy is changing, moving and rapidly shifting all the time. Our bedroom generally has the same ‘feel’, night after night.
That’s why it’s easiest to sense when something is off - including when that something is a Spirit-person in your space at night, in your bedroom.
#1. If you’ve noticed a presence sitting on your bed or at the foot of your bed, you aren’t alone.
This is a common place for a Spirit to hang out, if said Spirit wanted to get your attention. When we wake up from a slumber, generally, at the foot of the bed, or in the space around the bottom of bed, is where our gaze goes first. So, it’s this place that it’s most likely to be noticed right-away.
Since being in your face would be too scary and make all communication attempts after that futile, most Spirits won’t do that. Most Spirits, being that they were generally once people before, are too polite for that.
#2. who is audacious enough to do something like this?
To break into your bedroom and interrupt you during such a vulnerable time? What type of Spirit would stand here?
Someone who really wants to communicate with you or
Someone who really wants you to be aware of their presence
Generally, it's both.
But in either case, a Spirit-presence in your bedroom is usually someone you know very well, such as a recently departed Loved One, a Friend or a Pet. Or someone who knows you very well, such as an Ancestor or a Spirit Guide.
my rule of thumb is this:
The closer they are to you, the more they want to be sensed by and communicate with you, the more likely they are to make attempts like this to get you to notice them.
